Kevin Durant was involved in a heated argument with two drunken Dallas Mavericks fans on Thursday night after they shouted “b****” as he ran onto the field.

Durant, a two-time NBA champion and former MVP, was in Texas with his Phoenix Suns team when the basketball season resumed after the All-Star break.

With the arena mostly empty when the players came out to warm up, two fans sitting a few rows from the court shouted out to Durant.

Video of the incident clearly shows them yelling “b****” at the former Golden State Warriors star as he ran onto the court.

Durant immediately turned to confront the man and woman, who both had a beer in hand, and said “what?”.

Security would kick them out before Durant came back and said they could stay

He then walked over to them before the female fan, with a big smile on her face, held out her hand for Durant to shake as if nothing had happened.

While it’s impossible to hear what Durant says to the couple, he refused to acknowledge her hand and was rightfully angry about their comments.

The man, who was also smiling, quickly realized that Durant was annoyed and tried to apologize to diffuse the situation.

The embarrassed couple clearly didn’t expect Durant to respond to their taunts, but tried to downplay their mockery and started telling him a story about a deceased relative and the man’s sports podcast.

Durant, clearly unimpressed, ended the call and walked back to his teammates who were warming up.

Security appeared to want to kick the pair out of the American Airlines Center, but Durant returned and told them to stay.

Durant and the Phoenix Suns took on the Mavericks when the season resumed after the All-Star break

It turned out to be a miserable night for Durant all around, as the Mavericks claimed a 123-113 victory on Thursday night.

Luka Doncic scored 41 points and Kyrie Irving added 29 as Dallas extended their winning streak to seven games.

Dallas tied Phoenix in the standings at 33-23 and took the head-to-head tiebreaker with a 2-1 record in a pair of teams battling for a guaranteed spot in the playoffs.

Doncic had 11 assists and nine rebounds against fellow All-Stars Devin Booker, who scored 35 points, and Durant, who had 23 on an ordinary shooting night for the 14-time All-Star. The Suns had won five of six before halftime.

Dallas extended its longest winning streak of the season during new majority owner Miriam Adelson’s first visit.

The widow of casino magnate Sheldon Adelson was at the court. Her company, Las Vegas Sands Corp., completed the deal with Mark Cuban in December.
