Jamie Redknapp has hailed Kevin De Bruyne as the best midfielder in Premier League history after his stunning goal helped Man City to a 4-0 win over Brighton.
The Belgian superstar scored a dazzling header after 17 minutes to give Pep Guardiola’s side the lead at the Amex Stadium.
Redknapp compared the header to Robin van Persie’s famous goal for the Netherlands during the 2010 World Cup against Spain at half-time.
The Sky Sports pundit gave his praise after the match, claiming the Belgian’s ability to do things that are ‘out of this world’ makes him the best midfielder in Premier League history.
“Kevin De Bruyne, we’ve seen some great ones like [Steven] Gerard, [Frank] Lampard, David Silva, Yaya Toure, incredible attacking midfielders, he is the best for me,” Redknapp said.

‘He does things that are out of this world. The passes he has seen throughout his career since coming to the PL, there aren’t many that can do that.
‘He can score all kinds of goals, I didn’t expect diving headers. Every time I see him I am in awe of him.”
Redknapp added that the 32-year-old has been the perfect role model for Phil Foden.
Foden continued his stunning season, which saw him emerge as favorite for Player of the Year, by scoring twice against the Seagulls.
“It’s the master and the master,” said Redknapp.
“With Phil Foden and what he’s doing now, he looks so good. He always has the image in his head.
‘You need good role models. It’s great for Phil Foden to see the likes of Kevin De Bruyne every day. I’m just trying to learn and adopt something from him.
‘There is no doubt that Phil Foden is playing so well because he has had great lessons from Kevin de Bruyne.’
Former Man City star Yaya Toure was another Premier League great highlighted by Redknapp

Man City’s victory moved the reigning champions one point behind leaders Arsenal in the title race.
Pep Guardiola’s side still have a game in hand against the Gunners, who are bidding for a fourth consecutive Premier League title.
Assessing the title race, Redknapp believes his former club Tottenham could play a crucial role in determining which side lifts the Premier League trophy.
Ange Postecoglou’s side host Arsenal in a thrilling north London derby on Sunday, while Spurs also face Man City in the penultimate week of the season.
Redknapp believes Arsenal can be crowned champions if they beat their bitter rivals this weekend.
‘Tottenham will play a big role when they face Arsenal on Sunday, which will be a huge game. “Anything can happen in derby matches,” he said.
‘If Arsenal get past that, they will win all their games. Then the question is whether Man City can make one mistake, if a draw it is Arsenal’s title.
Ex-Man City and Arsenal star Gael Clichy believes the former’s away trip to Tottenham will be the ‘big one’ in determining the outcome of the title race
‘Tottenham have a home game against Man City, they have a good record against them. Man City are rightly favorites because they have the history and know how to do it, but I think Arsenal will keep them honest like that.”
Ex-Man City and Arsenal defender Gael Clichy believes the former’s match at Tottenham will be the ‘big one’ in deciding the outcome of the title race.
“I look at Tottenham that can change the course of the race,” Clichy said.
‘If Arsenal can win it will put pressure on City, but I don’t see City dropping points against Forest, Wolves or Fulham, but I can see them struggling against Tottenham. That will be the big one.’
