As the drama continues to unfold over his reported clash with Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner is playing up even more drama at home.
Christine Baumgartner, who tied the knot with Costner in 2004, filed for divorce on Monday, ending 18 years of marriage, according to TMZ.
The 68-year-old actor and 49-year-old Baumgartner, a model and fashion designer, began dating in 2000 and were married in 2004 at Costner’s ranch in Aspen, Colorado.
The split is said to be a result of “irreconcilable differences,” with Baumgartner asking for joint custody of their three children — Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12.
Costner filed his response to the divorce on Tuesday, and he’s also seeking joint custody of their children.

“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have occurred which have caused Mr. Costner to participate in an action for dissolution of the marriage,” said a statement from Costner’s representative.
“We ask that the privacy of him, Christine and their children be respected as they navigate this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
There is no mention of Baumgartner filing for spousal support, with Costner’s answer submitted by Laura Wasser.
“Spousal maintenance must be paid to the petitioner according to the terms of the parties’ prenuptial agreement,” Wasser said, indicating that there is a prenuptial agreement between Costner and Baumgartner.
Costner was previously married to Cindy Silva from 1978 to 1994 and they share three children: Annie, 39, Lily, 36, and Joe, 35.
He also shares a son Liam Costner with Bridget Rooney, who he dated after his split from Silva.
The divorce news comes weeks after DailyMail.com reported new details about Costner’s split from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
Sources claimed that Sheridan had developed a “God complex” that reportedly left Costner frustrated with the development of the popular Paramount Network series.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have occurred which have caused Mr. Costner to participate in a dissolution of the marriage,” said a statement from Costner’s representative.

There are also reports that Costner’s beloved character John Dutton will be killed off in the second half of Yellowstone’s current fifth season.
The first half of the season ended on New Year’s Day, while the second half was originally set to debut this summer, though it probably won’t.
Costner, who directed his epic Western saga Horizon, reportedly only wanted to film the second half of the season for one week.
It’s unclear when production on the new episodes for Yellowstone Season 5 will begin, or if those episodes will feature John Dutton’s death.
