“We’re deep into production on #HorizonFilm, and I have to tell you I haven’t felt that way about a movie since we made Dances With Wolves,” Costner said, referring to his 1990 classic.
Costner – who has been in the news lately amid his split from wife Christine Baumgartner and exit from the Yellowstone series – concluded by saying, “I can’t wait to share it with all of you.”

The project marks Costner’s first directing job in two decades, as his last time directing was the 2003 western drama Open Range.

Costner said Variety last year that he would split Horizon into “four different movies” that would come apart “about every three months.”
The project was first revealed in January 2022, with Costner announcing that he would also produce and finance the series through his production company, Territory Pictures.
