Kevin Costner claims he is “not sure” whether his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, had “extramarital” affairs, but stated that he had been faithful throughout their marriage.
The 68-year-old Yellowstone actor, who recently claimed his ex, 49, was deliberately trying to “postpone” their divorce, has been embroiled in tumultuous divorce proceedings since Christine filed for divorce on May 1.
In a new legal request for order obtained by People, the mother of three has asked for further documentation to prove Costner’s finances.
Some of the requests include “expenses paid by you, or anyone else at your request or on your behalf, in connection with extramarital romantic relationships.”
In response, the star’s legal team stated that the request was “made only for the purpose of harassment, is too broad in time and subject matter, incriminating, oppressive and impermissibly complicated.”

His lawyers further stated that Christine’s and her lawyers’ request is “irrelevant to the subject matter” because “there is no community of property” between the former couple in relation to their divorce.
Costner and his team also added that he is “not sure if (Christine) had an ‘extramarital romantic relationship’ before the divorce and, if so, whether she spent any of his money or charged any fees to promoting her affair. (s) on credit cards he paid.”
The star’s lawyers stated, “(Kevin) has no responsive documents for ‘extramarital romantic relationships’ he was involved in because he didn’t have any.”
According to the newspaper, New York marriage and family law attorney Marilyn B. Chinitz explained that Christine’s request is “not unusual.”
But added: “The request for “paid expenses related to extramarital romantic relationships” should be considered irrelevant and harassing and represents nothing more than a fishing expedition.”
The Dances With Wolves actor and handbag designer initially married in 2004 in Aspen, Colorado and share three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.
But in May, after nearly 19 years of marriage, Christine filed for divorce, reportedly leaving the Hollywood star “blindsided” and that came as an “unpleasant surprise,” a source told People at the time.
Their divorce quickly turned nasty and his estranged wife recently claimed that Kevin “hidden” his financial records regarding his $400 million fortune during their ongoing separation.

The designer said in legal documents filed Monday in California Superior Court that the Academy Award-winning actor, 68, withheld documents in the case. People reported Wednesday after reviewing legal documents.
Baumgartner — who has publicly clashed with Costner over her living situation since the split — has asked for documents detailing “his future endeavors and projected earnings” on projects such as his upcoming Horizon film series.
Christine requested a court order for Costner to share the requested documents. Her team said the actor has “held back” them from sharing relevant information with a child support hearing scheduled for next week, and a November hearing that will look into the premarital agreement in the case.
Baumgartner — who the court awarded $129,755 a month in child support in July — has said she felt pressured to sign the prenup, which will give her a $1.5 million payout if the marriage ends.
Her attorneys said in legal filings that Costner “has requested a multi-day evidentiary hearing on (Baumgartner’s) child support request, at which time the court will receive evidence regarding (Costner’s) gross cash flow available for support and anticipated future earnings.” ‘

The attorneys said the court will have to receive “evidence relating to those circumstances in order to reach a verdict,” but that Baumgartner “will not be able to present any evidence that (Costner) has withheld from discovery.”
Baumgartner initially asked for monthly child support totaling $248,000, which Costner said in June.
The actor, who earned about $20 million in 2022, said the amount was not feasible as he plans to earn “significantly less” since he quit Yellowstone.
Baumgartner’s legal team asked for information about Horizon — noting that “such documents prove its future endeavors and expected earnings” — and said Costner’s team withheld it.
