Kevin Clifton debuts dramatic new look after shaving his head as former Strictly Come Dancing star enjoys day out with girlfriend Stacey Dooley

Strictly Come Dancing fans can be forgiven for doing a pasa double-take when Kevin Clifton ventured into East London on Monday.

The professional dancer – a popular figure on the BBC show before leaving in 2019 – tried out a new look while shopping at a local supermarket with partner Stacey Dooley.

After shaving his head, 40-year-old Clifton looked a little different when he stepped out after debuting close-crop for the first time at a WWE wrestling event in Leicester Square on Sunday night.

The low-maintenance style was at odds with the dancer’s typical longer look, but the dramatic shortness betrayed some unfortunate hair loss as the couple picked up their shopping.

Clifton was dressed in a gray sweater and matching sweatpants as she walked hand in hand with a preoccupied Dooley, whose attention seemed to be on her cell phone.

The TV personality, 36, opted for a loose-fitting jumper and matching shorts, paired with lemon yellow running shoes during the couple’s latest public appearance.

Dooley recently admitted that marrying Clifton “isn’t hugely important to her,” despite the couple welcoming daughter Minnie in January.

The presenter will provide some insight into her family life in an episode of Stacey Sleeps Over, highlighting the challenges they’ve faced in adjusting to parenthood.

And Dooley says motherhood is her “hardest gig ever,” meaning the couple has ruled out having another baby while “failing” at being parents.

She said The sun: ‘Marriage has never been very important to me. It’s also well documented that Kev has done it a few times before.

“So you have to keep that in mind, if you come down the aisle like, ‘Hey guys, I know what you’re all thinking.’ It’s just never been anything I dreamed of. But I couldn’t have done this (motherhood) without Kev.”

In the raw documentary, Dooley reflects on whether she would want another child while still coming to grips with the challenges of raising a newborn, including raging hormones and lack of sleep.

She adds, “I don’t understand how people can have four kids. I’ve had one and I fail completely.’

Getting used to parenthood has led to some tense moments between the pair, as viewers will find out in the documentary.

In June, Clifton revealed he was taking a break from work to focus on caring for baby Minnie after completing the Strictly Ballroom tour.

He told Digital spy: ‘It went Singin’ in the Rain, Rock of Ages, The War of the Worlds, Burn the Floor, then I did The Games on ITV, Who Do You Think You Are? and then back to Singin’ in the Rain on tour.

“Then the day after I finished Singin’ in the Rain I started rehearsing for Strictly Ballroom.

“By the time I finish at the end of July it will have been a 10 month tour of Strictly Ballroom. So since we came out of COVID, it’s just been non-stop back-to-back.

So, for the rest of this year, I’ve decided I’m going to take a break from all the executive work just to be a dad. I don’t want to miss anything from Minnie.

“So yeah, my plan is to take a break once this contract expires.”
