Kevin Bacon has revealed that he once hired a makeup artist to dress up in public, but he hated not being recognized.
The 65-year-old Footloose star, who has been a top Hollywood star for 40 years, said he wanted to get a taste of being a regular member of the audience, but quickly realized he resented not getting special attention from his fans.
He told Vanity Fair : ‘I’m not complaining, but I have a face that is quite recognizable. Putting on my hat and glasses only works to a certain extent.’
“I went to a special effects makeup artist, had a consultation and asked him to make me a prosthetic disguise” before testing out his new disguise at The Grove mall in Los Angeles.
He said, ‘Nobody recognized me, people were kind of pushing past me, not being nice. Nobody said, ‘I love you.’ I had to stand in line to, I don’t know, buy a fucking coffee or something. I thought, ‘This sucks. I want to be famous again.”

MaXXXine will be in US theaters on July 5 via A24.
MaXXXine follows Maxine after she survives the 1979 Texas massacre, as she pursues her dream of becoming a famous actress while escaping the Night Stalker in 1985 Los Angeles.
The slasher film is the third installment in the X-film series, based on Ti’s original characters and starring 30-year-old British actress Mia.
MaXXXine is a direct sequel to the 2022 film X, which starred Mia in a dual role as Maxine Minx and Pearl in the film set in 1979.
Mia reprised her role as Pearl in the 2022 psychological horror film Pearl, which she also co-wrote with director Ti.

The Footloose actor met his wife Kyra Sedgwick on the set of 1988’s Lemon Sky, which was based on the 1968 play of the same name.
After a nine-month engagement, the couple married on September 4, 1988.
The successful Hollywood couple have a daughter Sosie, 31, and a son Travis, 34.
