Kevin Bacon enjoys rare family outing with wife Kyra Sedgwick and children at A Complete Unknown premiere

Kevin Bacon stepped out for a rare family outing with wife Kyra Sedgwick and their two children while attending the premiere of A Complete Unknown in Hollywood on Tuesday.

The Footloose actor, 66 – who will star with his family in an upcoming horror comedy – joined other celebrities at the star-studded event, including Timothee Chalamet and Elle Fanning.

The anticipated Bob Dylan biopic – directed by James Mangold – will hit theaters later this month, on Christmas Day.

Bacon was stylishly casual, wearing dark gray jeans and a black shirt that was partially left loose around the collar.

He paired the look with a black leather jacket and also put on a pair of black shoes that were tied with laces.

Sedgwick, 59, wore a white blouse, tight-fitting black jeans and a black blazer that was open at the front.

The Closer actress also wore a pair of brown shoes and easily carried a red bag in her hand that added a pop of color to the monochrome outfit.

Kyra’s blonde locks were parted in the middle and flowed effortlessly in voluminous curls past her shoulders.

Bacon and Sedgwick notably married in 1988 — and share Travis, 35, and Sosie, 32.

Sosie looked glamorous in a figure-hugging red dress that clung to her body and had a short train that fell behind her.

The Smile star parted her brunette hair in the middle and pulled the strands back into a chic updo.

She was accompanied by partner Scoot McNairy, who was smartly dressed in a classic dark gray suit and a navy blue shirt underneath.

McNairy was supported by Sosie and the Bacons to celebrate his role as Woody Guthrie in A Complete Unknown.

Travis Bacon wore an all-black ensemble and was accompanied by his girlfriend, Angelina Sambrotto – who stunned in a plunging black leather dress.

The family gathered to take a break for memorable photos on the red carpet at the glitzy screening in Los Angeles.

Earlier this year, in June, the group was previously seen on a rare outing while attending the screening of MaXXXine.

A Complete Unknown is a biographical drama about musician Bob Dylan and directed by James Mangold.

Timothee Chalamet played Dylan in the film, joining other cast members including McNairy, Elle Fanning, Edward Norton, Monica Barbaro and Boyd Holbrook.

The premise is: ‘At the 1965 Newport Folk Festival, a young Bob Dylan shakes up his act on the folk music scene by going electric and hearing rock as the voice of a generation – creating one of the most transformative moments in the music of the 20th century defines. ,’ per one IMDB summary.

The biopic recently received three Golden Globe nominations: Best Picture – Drama, Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for Chalamet and Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture for Norton.

Kevin’s latest outing with his loved ones comes after it was revealed that both he and Kyra will direct and star in the new film Family Movie, alongside their two children, Travis and Sosie.

He will direct the upcoming horror-comedy both in front of and behind the camera. Variety reported last November.

The film – written by Premature writer Dan Beers – will be produced by Mixed Breed Films with Dark Castle Entertainment’s Norman Golightly.

The premise of the project follows a close-knit family of filmmakers who suddenly find themselves in the middle of a real-life horror movie when a body appears on the set of their low-budget slasher.

As production continues to spiral out of control, the family realizes that the only way to save their project is to cover up the murder at all costs.

In a statement, Dark Castle’s Golightly said, “There may not be a more compelling Hollywood family than the Bacons.”

“We can’t wait to bring their unique dynamics to the screen and then turn it wildly upside down for audiences.”

While Bacon and Sedgwick are no strangers to the entertainment industry, neither are their children.

Sosie has a number of projects to her name and starred in the 2022 horror film Smile.

The actress also appeared with her mother in the series Closer and in the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why.

During an earlier interview with The Hollywood ReporterKevin revealed that he was surprised by his daughter’s choice to follow in his and Kyra’s acting footsteps.

“We didn’t know that she was really interested in pursuing any kind of acting career after that,” he told the outlet in 2022.

“But when she finally decided in her early 20s that this was what she wanted to do, she dropped out of college and moved to LA.”

Bacon added, “And really started doing the right things. Stomping on the sidewalk, putting tape after tape, and studying.”

He also talked about his family’s “tradition” of getting into the horror genre, saying, “In a strange way, we have a horror tradition in our family.” One of my first films was the very first one.’

More than 40 years earlier, in 1980, Kevin most notably starred in Friday The 13th.

Kyra has also made appearances in the genre, including the 2012 film Possession and also Villains (2019).

Travis Bacon is a musician and has composed for films such as Space Oddity (2022) and Weekend Deadaway (2024), according to his official IMDB page.

He is also the frontman of the metal band CONTRACULT Collective, and like his other family members, he is a fan of horror.

In 2022, he announced Slashtag Cinema – which was described as ‘a whole new universe of horror shorts’.
