Kerry Washington reveals she’s been trying to give up her acting career since she started: ‘I always quit this business’
Kerry Washington has been consistently trying to quit acting since she started in Hollywood, according to W magazine.
The 46-year-old Scandal star opened up in an interview conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike, admitting: “I always quit this business, and when I decide I’m done, there’s something extraordinary. comes over my desk.’
She joked that she was “really, really done with this case right before I read the script for Ray.” I was really, really done with this business right before I read the script for The Last King of Scotland. I was all done with this case before I read the script for Scandal.”
“This is what happens over and over,” the Little Fires Everywhere star added.
Her latest script she couldn’t turn down was the Hulu series UnPrisoned, in which Kerry plays a couples therapist with a son whose father moves back in with them… after serving time in prison.

The New York-born A-lister is also preparing for the release of her highly anticipated memoir, Thicker Than Water.
Her book will be available in bookstores and everywhere online on September 26.
According to the star of The Last King Of Scotland, it took her four years to write the memoir.
She announced that a Thicker than water book tour begins on Sunday, September 23 in the Bronx, the borough of New York where Kerry was born and raised.
Best known for her role as crisis management guru Olivia Pope on the long-running series Scandal, the diminutive actress has since established herself as an Emmy Award-winning television and movie star.
The American Son star was also named as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame 2024 class, in the television category.
However, the lead actress of the Fantastic Four has yet to have her star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, likely considering that the SAG-AFTRA strike is still ongoing.
According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame site, candidates in the class of 2024 to 2026 will have their star ceremony.

The Fight’s executive producer remained humble when asked when she first felt really successful, replying, “Have moments when I feel really impressed, but I don’t feel successful — because I’m still curious.” and feel hungry and excited to continue working and get better and do more.’
She added, “I have moments when I feel really happy, moments when I can’t believe I’m in the room I’m in, moments when I’m a little bit in awe of my life, getting to where I come from and to even have the personal life that I have.”
In addition to her acting success, Kerry also noted that she was grateful because of her family.
She has been married to Nnamdi Asomugha since June 2013.
The couple has two children together, Isabelle and Caleb.
