Kerry Katona has reportedly signed up for a new extreme reality show with a host of other TV personalities.

The 42-year-old former Atomic Kitten will star in The Big Celebrity Detox with several stars from the likes of Love Island, Ibiza Weekender and Homes Under The Hammer, among others, according to reports.

Scheduled to air next year, the show will see its cast try out a variety of unusual treatments in front of the cameras.

An informant said Sun: ‘Kerry is always TV gold, so the bosses were desperate to sign her up for this show.

“She’s always up for wacky stuff and she’s hilarious to watch, so you know she’s going to have viewers in stitches.”

They added: “Viewers will see Kerry work through some painful trauma that she has been through in her life in recent years. Kerry is quite a spiritual person, so the experience is very cathartic and emotional for her.”

According to the publication, a Channel 4 spokesperson said: “The schedule of the show will be confirmed in due course.”

A representative for Kerry declined to comment when contacted by MailOnline.

It comes after former Love Island star Megan Barton Hanson was previously reported to have left the show after just two days of filming.

It is claimed that Megan decided the bizarre wellness treatments were too much and jumped ship.

A television informant said Sun: ‘Megan realized very quickly during filming that the show was too much for her.

“The ‘treatments’ are really comprehensive and quite radical, and she felt like she had bitten off more than she could chew.

“It wasn’t the show’s fault, they were upfront about what she was signing up for, but Megan didn’t really appreciate the reality of how intense everything was going to be until she got on set.”

“The producers were devastated and tried to persuade her to stay, but she just couldn’t take it.”
