Kyle Sandilands has recalled the shocking moment when Kerri-Anne Kennerley lifted the lid on her drug use in the 1970s.
appearing in The Great Jess Rowe Talk Show This week, Kyle said he was surprised when the 69-year-old former golden girl of daytime TV told him about her wild years during a 2017 radio interview.
‘Kerri-Anne Kennerley told me… that when she was in New York hanging around with all the Who’s Who [she was] 24/7 on cocaine. [It was the] time of his life,” said Kyle.

Kyle, who has previously opened up about his own battle with cocaine addiction, said he was taken aback by the confession, given the Logie Hall of Famer’s flawless public image.
“I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, you’re Kerri-Anne Kennerley! I can’t imagine you racking up lines,'” she recalled.

“I lived in New York and during the 1970s, New York was abuzz…cocaine was the drug of the day,” he told Kyle and his co-host, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
“I went from Brisbane to New York via Jamaica, so this was the biggest learning experience: a university education without paying for it – although you did pay for it in many ways – and it was about drugs,” explained the former Studio 10 panelist.
“I decided that coke was too good because I have a really addictive personality.”
During his 2017 interview on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, KAK admitted that he had used cocaine “off and on” while living in the Big Apple for five years in the ’70s.
Kerri-Anne said cocaine was her drug of choice because she considered heroin “evil” and “didn’t like” how the drug affected users’ skin.
“I never smoked either because I hated the lip thing and I was a singer and I didn’t want to do anything that was harmful,” she added.
He eventually kicked his drug addiction after deciding that his burgeoning media career was too important to jeopardize.
