In the new political drama, Russell plays Kate Wyler, a newly appointed US ambassador to the United Kingdom.
According to the synopsis, the career diplomat gets “a high-profile job for which she neither wants nor thinks she is suited.”
She was originally on her way to Afghanistan, until the United States government hires her to serve as an ambassador during an international crisis.
