Cocaine Bear is a movie based on the true story of a black bear who died after eating a nearly 200-pound bag of cocaine in 1985.

The bag had apparently been dropped by smuggler Andrew C. Thornton II, who died after his parachute failed following a jump from his plane.

Much of the cast, which also includes the likes of O’Shea Jackson Jr, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and the late Ray Liotta, were unveiled in early 2021.

Physical production began in Ireland in August 2021, with filming wrapping up in October.
