Two people have been found dead in a Brisbane home occupied by a single mother and two young children.

Emergency services were called to a home on Kentville Street in the northwestern suburb of Mitchelton at around 9am on Thursday morning.

Several police officers and a man in a blue suit were seen entering the area.

Neighbours told Daily Mail Australia that a single mother and two primary school-age children lived in the house, which is owned by the Queensland government.

They said the community is “praying” that the children, who often play in the yard, were not injured.

They said they had not heard or seen anything unusual in the area in the past 24 hours and were shocked when police stormed the street on Thursday morning.

‘She [police] “We pulled over outside and took the plates and a tow truck arrived,” the resident said of last month’s incident.

‘It was a spray can painted black. It was shady.

‘I’ve seen police there before too.’

The resident said he had previously heard of fights taking place in the building.

A Queensland Police spokesman said officers were investigating “the sudden deaths of two people in Mitchelton this morning”.

“At around 8.50am, emergency services were called to a home on Kentville Street,” the spokesperson said.

A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the cause of death is underway.

‘There is no further information available at this time.’

The man in the suit was later seen being escorted into a car with detectives after leaving the building.

No charges have been filed.
