Kenny Pickett ‘traded to Eagles for third-round pick and two future seventh-rounder’ after Steelers signed QB Russell Wilson in free agency
Kenny Pickett’s short time in Pittsburgh is reportedly over, as the third-year quarterback has been traded from the Steelers to the Eagles.
It appeared Pickett would be Russell Wilson’s backup in Pittsburgh this year after the Steelers signed the former Seahawks and Broncos passer to a one-year, $1.21 million deal.
But Pickett will instead sit behind the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting that the Eagles are sending this year’s No. 98 pick (third round) and two 2025 seventh-rounders to land the 25-year-old.
The Steelers also send the 120th pick to Philly along with Pickett.
Pittsburgh selected Pickett with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and the quarterback has largely underwhelmed in 24 starts spanning two seasons.
He had just 13 total touchdowns against 13 interceptions, with a paltry 6.4 yards per attempt last season (27th out of 32 passers).
