Kenny Omega introduces new entrance theme from FF14 composer Masayoshi Soken

After a hiatus of more than a year due to health concerns, professional wrestler Kenny Omega made his long-awaited return to the ring on January 5 at Wrestle Dynasty. He marked the occasion with a brand new entrance theme featuring two legends of the video game industry. .

“Before I return tomorrow, I would like to announce that I will be making a new entrance into the Tokyo Dome,” Omega shared on X (formerly Twitter). “A new song created by the amazing Final fantasy 14 & 16 composer Masayoshi Soken, with vocals by Jason Miller and a special voice of the legendary Nobuo Uematsu. I hope you enjoy it.”

New Japan Pro Wrestling, one of the five co-producers of Wrestle Dynasty, shared footage of X of Omega’s entrance from the live, pay-per-view broadcast of the event.

It’s hard to make out, but what can be heard above the crowd’s cheers is classic Soken. Orchestral melodies swell and disappear behind dramatic vocals, resulting in a piece of beautiful music that wouldn’t be out of place in the background of a Final fantasy 14 raid or a crucial story moment Final fantasy 16. And while I don’t know Nobuo Uematsu’s voice, I’d like to believe he was blasting Omega through the speakers as the generational talent came down the ramp.

Oh and, spoilersbut Omega won his match. There’s no power-up like Final Fantasy music to beat.
