Kennedy Oaks Day 2022: Best and worst dressed celebrities at the Birdcage at Flemington Racecourse

>

While the horses competed for a $1 million prize on the track in Flemington, the real competition took place on the field when Australian celebrities brought their tailoring competition on Kennedy Oaks Day.

Traditionally known as ‘Ladies Day’, the country’s celebrities braved the Melbourne breeze in a range of bright and pastel colors, stunning ensembles and striking lengths.

Many managed to capture the racing fashion brief, but others missed the mark with bizarre asymmetrical cuts, strange color combinations and unflattering dress lengths.

Among them was Andy Lee’s friend Rebecca Harding, whose strange semi-sheer skirt, asymmetrical jacket and pastel blue headpiece hit all the wrong notes.

Joining Rebecca was Masterchef Australia judge Melissa Leong, whose Cinderella-inspired blue jeweled blue ensemble fell to an equally awkward, unflattering height, marking her second appearance on FEMAIL’s worst-dressed list this week.

Melissa paired her odd sheer bling-y ensemble with burgundy accessories and ended up with an outfit that didn’t look right.

Jules Robinson’s gray Elle Zeitoune dress and Serena Lindeman’s bunny-eared fascinator faded her pretty pale complexion, while Hannah Ferrier’s floral ensemble did nothing for the TV star either.

Supermodel Nicole Trunfio appeared in both best and worst dressed, first impressing in a gorgeous tweed pink mini-suit that paid tribute to the late Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, but later morphed into a neon-patterned pink outfit, complete with elbow-length gloves and a floor-length satin jacket.

The Melbourne model and girlfriend of Josh Daicos, Annalize Dalins, 21, opted for a blue thigh-high split that was a slightly sassy choice for conservative Flemington, which she paired with bizarre pearl-encrusted sleeves (pictured)

The otherwise beautiful dress was bizarrely paired with pearl-encrusted sheer sleeves that did nothing for the overall outfit effect.

Race royalty Kate Waterhouse was also a whisker away from best-dressed, with her gorgeous pink and red pied-de-cat two-piece suit, but her hat choice didn’t quite match.

Among them was the ever-stylish Kennedy Luxury Group creative advisor Jamiee Belle Kennedy.
