Kendall Jenner says she ‘loves hard’ and ‘fights for relationships’ amid Bad Bunny romance as she touches on her ‘therapy journey’ during Harper’s Bazaar interview

Kendall Jenner has landed another high-profile fashion magazine cover as her modeling career continues to soar.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians vet appeared on the front cover of the Harper’s Bazaar Icons Edition in a Mario Sorrenti shoot. Others who landed covers were Doja Cat and Paul Mescal.

The reality TV star – who is dating Bad Bunny – told the publication that she is passionate.

“I love very hard, and I love without apology,” she said. “I don’t like saying goodbye, and I will fight not to say goodbye. I will always fight for relationships.

“I’ve been like this since I was little, although I was shy and sometimes very closed,” she continued.

‘I’m not giving up anything. Some people are not willing to meet me on that level. But that’s okay. I’d rather do that than shut myself off from something and not give it a chance.’

And she said she was growing up. “I feel like I’m coming into my femininity,” she shared.

“And having so many strong women around me has helped shape my self-esteem.”

On remembering her childhood as a place where she created spaces of refuge, “I just kind of kept to myself,” she said. “I loved hiding in my room and doing my own thing or riding my horses.”

On her therapy journey, “I feel really balanced right now,” Jenner said.

‘I started my therapy process a year and a half ago. I speak with my therapist once a week, so every week I learn something new. I am constantly developing and I just find it exciting to do that.’

Kris Jenner, on her daughter’s strength: “She’s always been very clear about who she was.

Her superpower is knowing when it’s too much or when it’s not enough. …She’s a lot smarter than I am at that, and she’s taught me a thing or two about it.’

“I think when things seem to go really easy for people, there’s a lot of criticism,” says casting director (and Harper’s BAZAAR contributing editor) Anita Bitton, who cast Jenner on her first Marc Jacobs show in 2014.

“But to maintain all that stuff there’s a certain amount of rigor involved, and Kendall has that rigor,” Bitton explains. “Kendall Jenner is her own person.”

The 2023 ICONS portfolio, shot by acclaimed photographer Sorrenti, highlights 14 global pioneers who are currently shaping the conversation in the worlds of fashion, art, film, music and activism, according to a press release.

These are September covers of the US newsstand edition, available August 29.

‘The 2023 ICONS are passionate visionaries who captivate, connect, entertain, move us, fuel our obsession and inspire us with the urgency they bring to their work. Not only do they speak to this moment, they help define it and give it meaning. All have made their mark – and some may be making history. But most importantly, they all understand what can happen when our eyes, hearts, minds and energies all point in the same direction,” it added.

This year’s ICONS portfolio also includes: Golshifteh Farahani, Nia DaCosta, Leila Mottley, Greta Lee, James Whiteside, Teyana Taylor, Angel Reese, Zaya Wade, Parris Goebel, Rep. Justin Pearson and Rep. Justin Jones.

“One of the things I really appreciate about putting together our annual Icons issue is that it gives us a chance to reflect on what inspires us right now,” said Samira Nasr, editor-in-chief.

“What struck me most about the subjects in this year’s portfolio is that there are many outliers.

“They are people who have each found a way to break into the mainstream of their respective fields, but they have also changed or redirected that current in a way that has transformed it for all those who come after them.

“This entire issue is a celebration of people not only doing the job, but changing a culture and paving a path for future generations.”
