Is it too little too late for Kamala Harris?
Days to go and desperate to fend off Donald Trump’s ‘voting agency’, Saint Kamala – canonized at the convention – has come down from the mountain and into the gutter.
Joy does So last summer. From her ‘great debate’ to now selling hate, the name-calling (#garbagegate), the finger-pointing and the freaking out hurts her a lot.
Where did it all go wrong? Well, not that misogynist Mark Cuban would have you believe that, but I know a thing or two about how to run (and win!) a presidential campaign.
Here are the hard truths someone should have told Kamala, who has had a scary October:
Is it too little too late for Kamala Harris? Days to go and with Democrats desperate to fend off Donald Trump’s ‘poll vault’, here are the hard truths someone should have given Kamala…
1. Kamala, we hardly know you
Between the giggles and the gaffes, Kamala says “Donald Trump” more often than about inflation or immigration.
And as she spent months indulging in “I’m not Biden” and “I’m not Trump,” hungry voters wondered: Kamala, who are you?
Now she’s leaning on endorsements from the A-list and the Obamas to fuel her star appeal, but record numbers are too busy queuing to vote for Trump early.
2. Messy coup
Kamala has seriously mishandled her relationship with and succession to Joe Biden.
First she ran him over. Then she ran away from their shared record.
She forgot to turn off his microphone and throw him back into the basement. So there he shows up to remind us that we are “trash” and that she is his right arm, his full partner in the broken border, the broken economy, the wars abroad.
3. Too little in common with ordinary people
For all her pride in her real-world experience, Kamala has been in government continuously for more than thirty years, and it shows.
She has locked up her fellow citizens for marijuana possession and won over more qualified and convincing candidates. She may have been “raised in a middle-class family,” but her so-called economic “plan” threatens others who have similar ambitions.
4. A billion-dollar delusion
Money in politics is distorted. You may buy ambitious advisors, but not voter love.
Team Harris has pocketed well over a billion dollars from establishment liberals and put it into incredibly expensive political ads.$450,000 per day in the Las Vegas area), instead of pushing their candidate out to meet the people who matter.

5. Don’t be simple, simplify!
Whether it’s the effects of late-stage Trump Derangement Syndrome or simply a lack of brainpower, Kamala has missed all the important issues.
From too much attention to abortion to too little attention to inflation: it proves that she is a politician without keeping her finger on the pulse.
Trump is a complicated person with simple ideas: secure the border. End foreign wars. Lower your taxes. Restore energy independence.
Kamala is the opposite: a simple person with complicated ideas. She told CNN’s Anderson Cooper at a recent town hall: “Maybe I’m not so quick with the answer” — she might say that again — “because I want to explore it.”
Unfortunately, given the current state of America, voters don’t have time to waste or wait.
6. Personnel problems
Harris’ record of mismanagement and reported mistreatment of subordinates was always going to be a problem.
Its employee turnover rate is a notorious 92 percent. She doesn’t know how to keep them, or how to pick them.
The selection of Governor Tim Walz as her running mate was one of the worst hires in political history. This caricature of what MSNBC viewers think a Trump voter from the Midwest looks like has turned out to be a lying, howling lunatic.
The more capable and competent choice would have been Governor Josh Shapiro, who is a popular leader in perhaps the most important state on Kamala’s electoral path (Pennsylvania), and who also happens to be Jewish.

7. Show more grace
In the aftermath of the two attempts on Trump’s life, Kamala could have made a brilliant move by taking control of the investigation into the botched assassinations.
“I don’t want him to be POTUS again, but I want him and his family to be safe.”
It would have projected magnanimity and presidential power.
Instead, and perhaps the biggest surprise of October, Kamala 2024 has turned into Hillary 2016 – and made Trump 2024 become Trump 2016, storming the swing states, taking risks, showing up and enjoying it along the way .
Harris has lost to DJT on most metrics over the past month, including media interviews (Trump and Vance have done many more, including popular podcasts), memorable moments (Trump at McDonald’s and in that epic garbage truck), and polling data (all trending to Trump).
Like Hillary Clinton, Kamala has a huge cash advantage, outscoring Trump three times in September alone. And like Hillary, she relies on paid advertising and celebrities to replace the lack of connective tissue with voters discovering her inauthenticity.
In 2016, people said about Hillary, “lock her up.” Now with Kamala it is ‘support her’.
