Kellyanne Conway Meets With District Attorney As Investigation Looks At Trump’s Role In Money Paid To Silence Porn Star

Former political adviser to President Trump Kellyanne Conway has met with the Manhattan district attorney’s office as prosecutors intensify their investigation into the former president’s role in a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

Ms. Conway is just the latest witness to meet with the district attorney’s office as part of the ongoing criminal investigations into the former president. Trump’s longtime fixer has given some 15 interviews with the prosecutor’s office.

Prosecutors have already established that the $130,000 payment was made by Cohen toward the end of the 2016 presidential campaign. Trump later reimbursed him.

Stormy Daniels claims to have had an affair with Trump while he was married to former first lady Melania Trump, who gave birth to their son Barron less than six months before their affair.

Ms Conway has now met with prosecutors as they try to establish her role in the alleged hush money payment to the porn star.

Conway played a small but intrinsic role in the payment, Cohen previously said.

The former Trump lawyer wrote in his 2020 memoir: “I called Trump to confirm the transaction was completed and paperwork was in place, but he did not return my call, obviously a very bad sign, in hindsight.”

He wrote to Mrs. Conway and then “called and said he would give her the good news.”

Ms Conway, who stepped down from her role as a senior adviser to then-President Trump ahead of the 2020 re-election campaign, was reportedly seen entering the Manhattan district attorney’s office on Wednesday afternoon this week.

A grand jury was convened in January to hear witness testimony about alleged hush money and Trump’s denied relationship with Daniels.

The grand jury is an anonymous panel of 23 random people who live in the Manhattan constituency. They have been sworn to serve on the jury for six months while they hear the case and whether charges should be brought.

It is reported that so far the jury has heard the testimony of five people. Two Trump Organization employees, Jeffrey McConney and Deborah Tarasoff, are believed to have given evidence. Keith Davidson, Ms Daniels’ former lawyer, and David Pecker and Dylan Howard, who both worked for The National Enquirer tabloid newspaper and are said to have helped arrange the hush money payment to the porn star.

The cross-examination of witnesses will ultimately inform District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg if he will seek to indict former President Trump and proceed with criminal charges.

Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and has called the process a partisan witch hunt against him.

The New York Times reported that a spokesman for the Trump organization said, “This is just the latest act by the Manhattan district attorney in his endless politically motivated witch hunt.”

They also said the case was needlessly being reexamined under a ‘dubious legal theory’ and called it ‘reprehensible and vindictive’.

Trump previously criticized Bragg as a “radical” prosecutor for examining alleged “hush money” payments to Ms Daniels.

He accused Bragg of spending more time investigating him than pursuing crime in New York City, and claims the Democrat leaked the grand jury report to the press.

“With murder and violent crime on the rise like never before in New York City, Manhattan’s radical left District Attorney Alvin Bragg has just leaked to the fake news media that they are still going after Stormy ‘Horseface’ Daniels,” Trump wrote in January.

“Working closely with the Armed Department of Justice, this is a continuation of the Greatest Witch Hunt of all time. They missed the Statute of Limitations a long time ago, and I recently won big money against ‘Stormy’ in the 9th Circuit – NEVER HAD AN AFFAIR. This is old news!
