Kelly Ripa Wishes Anderson Cooper’s Son Sebastian A Happy First Birthday

Kelly Ripa shared a sweet snap to celebrate the first birthday of her friend Anderson Cooper, son of Sebastian.

The Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host, 52, took to Instagram on Tuesday to mark the special occasion with a snapshot of herself cradling the baby in her arms.

“Joyeux anniversaire Sebastian,” he wrote in French, adding “love you (that was a fast year @andersoncooper @benjaminmaisani).”

Cooper, 55, shares Sebastian and Wyatt Morgan Cooper, 2, with her ex-boyfriend Benjamin Maisani, 50.

In the photo, Ripa is sweetly seen holding the bundle of joy, who appears to be napping with a smile on her face.

Ripa has been friends with the newscaster for a long time, and last year she also wished her son Wyatt a happy birthday.

He posted a picture with the boy and said: ‘Happy 1st birthday Wyatt! MeeMaw [hearts] Wyatt. He added eight red balloon emojis to match his jumpsuit.

Cooper welcomed their second child in February 2022.

The 54-year-old CNN personality announced the big news on her show saying, “I wanted to start with some good news that also happens to be very personal news.” In April 2020, in the first dark days of the pandemic, you may remember that I announced the birth of my son Wyatt’.

He showed Wyatt’s baby photos on the screen, saying: ‘These are the photos I showed of my son taken just days after he was born. This is Wyatt today, he is almost 22 months old and he is sweet, funny and the greatest joy of my life.

Cooper continued: “If she looks particularly happy in this photo, it’s because she now has a little brother.”

“His name is Sebastian and I’d like you to meet him. This is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He weighed 6.8 pounds at birth, is healthy and happy, even his occasional hiccups are, to me, adorable.”

Cooper said his “best friend and former partner” Benjamin Maisani is “in the process of adopting Wyatt, whose last name will also be changed to Maisani-Cooper.”

He added: ‘Wyatt calls me “dad” and Benjamin “dad.” We are Family.

Cooper expressed his gratitude to the doctors and surrogate for welcoming Sebastian back, saying he would be taking time off to focus on his children.

Maisani and Cooper began dating in 2015, but broke up a few years later, in 2018.

Despite the end of their romantic relationship, the couple still co-parent the two children.

In April 2020, Cooper became a father for the first time.

The host revealed his happy news on his CNN Anderson Cooper 360 show in late April 2020, telling viewers that his son Wyatt had been born via surrogate on April 27, 2020.

Showing off a series of photos of her son, she said: “It has been a difficult time in all of our lives, and there are certainly many difficult days ahead.” I think it’s especially important in these troubled times to try to hold on to the moments of joy and the moments of happiness. Even as we mourn the loss of loved ones, we are also blessed with new life and new love.

‘On Monday, I became a father. I’ve never actually said that before, out loud, and it still amazes me. I am a dad. I have a son. And I want you to meet him. He is sweet and soft and healthy and I am more than happy.

Wyatt is named after Anderson’s father, who died during open-heart surgery when the newscaster was just 10, while his middle name, Morgan, is a last name of his mother Gloria Vanderbilt, who died in 2019.
