Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos reveal they have ‘ludicrous’ FaceTime sex ‘rituals’

Kelly Ripa has opened up about her sex life with husband Mark Consuelos on her new podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa.

The former actress, 52, explained that while Consuelos was filming Riverdale for ten months in 2020, they began FaceTime ‘sexual rituals’ that were ‘ridiculous’.

Life! With Kelly and Ryan, the hostess said at Wednesday’s premiere that she became “very close to [herself]’ during their virtual dates.

The longtime couple married in May 1996 and have three children: Michael, 25, Lola, 21, and Joaquin, 20.

During the episode, Mark shared that the only “possible deal breaker” in their marriage would be if she “cut [him] out sexually.’

He then made the clarification: ‘Unless you had some sort of medical condition where, like, you lost the use of [your body].’

Ripa reminded her husband that they tried abstinence when she experienced menopause, with Consuelos noting: ‘I didn’t give you a break.

‘There have never been months [without sex] unless I was in another country.’

Elsewhere in the conversation, Kelly told listeners that despite being together for nearly 30 years, Mark only recently learned the distinction between sex and intimacy.

He replied: ‘I’m going to blame it on the fact that I traveled so much. A lot had to happen during the time I was at home.

“I wanted to have intimacy and sex,” he defended himself. ‘So they became one and the same.’

Playful: The live one! With Kelly and Ryan, the hostess said at Wednesday’s premiere that she became “very close to [herself]’ during your virtual dating

Elsewhere in the opening episode, Kelly told fans that her husband was “insanely jealous” when they first got married.

“My biggest complaint about you over the course of our marriage, and this isn’t recent because it definitely changed and I don’t know if you changed or I changed or if it was a combination of changes, but you used to be insanely jealous.” and that was a hard pill to swallow,” Ripa began.

“It’s very difficult to be married to someone who is jealous and you were jealous of things that weren’t… you had a perception of a scenario,” she said, offering the “best example” from very early on in their marriage.

‘It was our first week of marriage, because we didn’t go on our honeymoon until later. You were working and I went to visit you in Boston,” Ripa recalls.

“We went to this Italian restaurant and the waiter was like a really cute old man, he’s definitely 70 if not 80.” He leaned in and said: ‘And for the principessa?'”

Consuelos admitted that she “got upset” at the time, with Ripa adding: “I thought it was so cute that this little old man called me princess, and I looked at him and gave my order in a very smiley way.”

Hard Rule: During the episode, Mark shared that the only ‘possible deal breaker’ in their marriage would be if Kelly ‘cut off [him] turned off sexually’

“And he walked away and you made a horrible fight,” she said, as Consuelos admitted she remembered that.

‘I remember that. Look at 25 years old, he was pretty crazy. But that jealousy thing definitely followed me for a while, but I’m not jealous anymore,” he added.

Ripa tells her husband that she’s “so thankful you’re not,” adding that she doesn’t “pray for things or people… I’d just say, ‘Please let him lose this character flaw.’

Consuelos admitted that it wasn’t even a ‘personality flow’, it was a ‘character flaw’.

It’s ugly. As ugly as it feels for the person who has to be on the receiving end, it’s such an ugly feeling inside,” he admitted.
