Kelly Oubre’s car crash this week is reportedly being investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department’s Internal Affairs Division after he was denied punishment for allegedly crashing his Lamborghini into another driver.

Following the Sixers’ Game 2 loss to the Knicks in the NBA Playoffs, Oubre allegedly ran a red light around 1:45 a.m. before crashing his purple vehicle into a Hyundai Elantra, causing both vehicles to be towed.

And while Oubre was not ticketed for the accident and was able to appear in Game 3, the PPD has now told TMZ Sports that an internal investigation into the crash is underway.

According to the newspaper, which cited a law enforcement source, Oubre was not given a breathalyzer or blood test after the crash, and some within the PPD are concerned whether he received special treatment.

There is reportedly no evidence that Oubre was impaired in driving.

The 28-year-old Oubre is in his first year with the Sixers after signing a one-year, $2.9 million contract with the team last offseason.

He has made $65 million in earnings throughout his career.

The wing scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Sixers won Game 3, 125-114.

However, he said after the match that he would “probably” have to hire a personal driver.

Oubre’s accident this week comes about five months after he suffered broken ribs and lacerations when he was hit by a car.

Footage from the ring doorbell showed him then walking back to his house while wincing in pain.

According to a police report from the time, Oubre was walking west when a silver vehicle traveling in the same direction tried to turn south onto another street but struck him in the chest with the driver’s side mirror.

He missed eleven games after that incident.
