Kelly Osbourne says past drug and alcohol use have ‘pickled’ her body and hopes it ’embalms’ her to protect her from cancer

Kelly Osbourne is hopeful that her past drug use will prevent her from developing cancer.

On the latest episode of her family’s The Osbournes podcast, the 39-year-old former reality TV star said: “I hope I’ve embalmed myself so I never get cancer.”

She added lightheartedly, “I’m definitely sour from all the drugs and alcohol.”

Her younger brother Jack, 38, warned: ‘I don’t think it works that way. But I’m not a doctor.’

It was also mentioned that colorectal cancer runs in the family; mother Sharon Osbourne, now 71, battled the disease in the early 2000s.

“Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” Kelly noted.

An ER doctor named Dr. Greg was a guest on the show’s latest episode and jokingly added, “For example, I’ve never heard of anything you put into your body that causes any bad effects.”

Kelly doesn’t shy away from discussing her past substance abuse issues.

In 2021, she revealed in the Facebook series Red Table Talk that it started with a prescription for opioids when she was just 13 years old.

‘I kept getting sick and developed a very bad case of tonsillitis. They ended up having to give me some crazy surgery, and then they gave me Vicodin.

“And that was all I needed,” she recalled.

Osbourne further explained, “I assumed every voice in my head was saying, ‘You’re fat, you’re ugly, you’re not good enough, no one likes you, you don’t deserve this, people only love you because of who your parents are.”

“And then suddenly every voice was silenced and it felt like life was giving me a hug.”

The former Fashion Police co-host went on to say: ‘I thought, “Why am I so confident about all this?”

“And then I very quickly went from Vicodin to Percocet, and eventually from Percocet to heroin, because it was cheaper.”

In 2021 she told me Additional about a brief relapse: ‘I’m an addict and thought I had enough time and could drink like a normal person, and it turns out I can’t and will never be normal.

‘I don’t know why I even tried. It’s not for me and it took me a few days and I was done, I didn’t do this.’
