Kelly Clarkson praised for stopping to learn how to pronounce Twice singer’s name during interview

Well done: Kelly Clarkson has been praised for pausing an interview with girl band Twice to learn how to correctly announce a singer’s name.
Twice as Nice: The K-pop girl group is taking the world by storm, with all nine members stopping by The Kelly Clarkson this week for a chat and to introduce their new single Moonlight Sunrise.
In the interview, Kelly addressed each band member—Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu—by name as they chatted about everything from music, food, and their mutual beginnings in hearing programs.
At the start of the chat, Kelly warned that she might not be pronouncing their names correctly, commenting, “If I don’t, I’m sorry.” I’m a Texan!
However, in a sweet moment with Tzuyu, the only Vietnamese member of the group, the Because of You hitmaker took more time and took care to say her nickname correctly when asked about the meaning of her song.
He had initially announced his name as ‘tzoo-yoo’ before checking with the translator if he had gotten it right.
However, when the translator said it in Korean and phonetically based on the English romanization, Kelly got confused and quipped, ‘Oh, okay, wait, wait, what?’
Tzuyu’s name is pronounced ‘Jjeu-Wee’ in Korean, however her fans have romanized her English name, meaning she is known as ‘Chewy’.
And as the interpreter insisted that ‘Tzoo-yoo is good’, Kelly was eager to hear how Tzuyu herself would prefer to be addressed, asking, ‘How do you want me to say it?’
The singer then commented, ‘Jjeu-Wee,’ while Kelly quipped, ‘How do you say that’s adorable! Well then, Jjeu-Wee, I think I said it right, I’m trying.
