Kelly Clarkson feels ‘relieved’ to stop paying $115k monthly spousal support to ex-husband Brandon Blackstock

Kelly Clarkson has paid her final $115,000 spousal support to ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.

The former couple met in 2006 and had been married for almost seven years when the pop star filed for divorce from Blackstock, 47, in June 2020.

Following the finalization of their divorce in 2022, Clarkson was ordered to pay $45,000 per month in child support for their children: daughter River, nine, and son Remington, seven.

Blackstock also received $115,000 a month in spousal support until January.

In November 2023, a California labor commissioner ruled that Blackstock had “unlawfully” booked jobs for Clarkson, including signing her deal as a judge on The Voice, while working as her manager, since only agents can secure roles for talent, according to court documents obtained Through TMZ.

Blackstock also collected fees from other endorsements, such as Wayfair and Norwegian Cruise Line, in the amount of $2,641,374, per outlet.

The labor commissioner ordered Blackstock to return the commissions — including the $1.98 million for The Voice gig — to his ex-wife.

It was reported that Blackstock's legal team plans to appeal the decision.

In October, Clarkson opened up about her decision to leave The Voice after nine seasons as one of the four celebrity coaches.

“Full disclosure: I've had to smile a lot because I was going through a lot of hard times in my personal life,” Kelly said of showing up for double duty.

She added, “I learned a lot about what I can handle, and also what not to do. That was me saying 'bye' to The Voice and taking this big step. I love that family, but I thought, “I'm having a hard time. I can't smile anymore. I don't feel like smiling.”

“What's cool about Season 5 for me is that I'm in such a great place, not just with my kids, but with me personally and with the show,” she admitted.

“I feel like a weight has been lifted. That step was desperately needed,” Clarkson emphasized.
