Kelly Clarkson downs RUM from the bottle on live TV – as she shows off her slimmed down figure in a mini skirt: ‘Oh that is dangerous!’

Kelly Clarkson previously claimed she was cutting back on carbs to lose weight.

But alcohol is clearly still on the menu, with the singer and presenter drinking rum straight from the bottle during her chat show on Monday – much to the delight of her studio audience.

The Because of You hitmaker, 42, was halfway through an interview with country singer Kenny Chesney, 56, when they were presented with two glasses of Blue Chair Bay lime-flavored rum to sample.

“Are you going to drink it?” Kenny asked, to which Kelly replied, “I thought it would be rude if I didn’t try.”

But the American Idol star wasn’t a fan of the amount of water in the glasses.

β€œWait, it’s not watered down, is it?” she asked, before quickly grabbing the bottle and twisting the lid off.

“Well, I can fix that,” she continued. ‘I want to know what it tastes like, but I can’t find it through all that [water]. I can not!’

“It smells good,” Kelly commented, getting a whiff of the liquor before adding. “I don’t know if that’s possible during the day.”

But before she could stop herself, Kelly, who showed off her slim figure in a mini skirt and red top, poured the bottle down her throat as Kenny commented: “You already did it.”

The audience immediately burst into applause at the presenter’s balletic move – and was audibly amused by her nonchalance.

“Oh, that’s dangerous!” Kelly said, giving her honest assessment of the rum before slowly bringing the bottle to her mouth for another taste.

Kenny is the sole owner and Chief Creative Officer of Blue Chair Bay.

The rum – which comes in a range of different flavours, from coconut, banana and vanilla – is made in the Caribbean.

Of the blending process, he told Kelly, β€œThe thing is, when I first created my rum company, I had to go to Barbados, to the distillery, to taste it.

‘And they said, “Well, what do you want it to taste like?” And so we had a doctor’s coat on and they had to wear a cap, almost like in a chemistry lab.”

Last month, Kelly admitted she was taking a diet drug to lose weight, after previously insisting her dramatic transformation was the result of more “walking” and cutting back on carbs.

The Fort Worth, Texas-born star β€” who has been the center of speculation for months about her rapid weight loss β€” said doctors prescribed her a drug after a blood test.

She insisted she was not taking Ozempic, but did not reveal which drug she was taking instead.

β€œMine is a different one than people think, but in the end that’s what I had to do,” Kelly told Whoopi Goldberg.

‘Everyone thinks it’s Ozempic, but it’s not. It’s something else.’

Kelly has reportedly lost 60 pounds, according to Extra TV, although she herself has not revealed the exact amount.

The pop star, who shares daughter River Rose, nine, and son Remington Alexander, seven, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, 47, said her doctor insisted she take the medication after repeated attempts to get her to take it.

β€œMy doctor chased me for about two years,” she said. ‘And I thought, “No, I’m scared of it. I already have thyroid problems, I was scared.”‘

Kelly said the medication she takes is “something that helps break down the sugar” because her “body isn’t doing it right.”

The hitmaker, who is believed to have spoken about not noticing her gradual weight gain, said she was amazed when she looked at herself on camera at one point and saw her drastic transformation.
