Kelly Bensimon spends what would’ve been her wedding weekend in Hamptons playing polo with daughter Sea… after calling off Scott Litner nuptials last minute

Kelly Bensimon kept her mind off her canceled wedding by heading to the Hamptons with the family on Saturday.

The 56-year-old Real Housewives of New York alum canceled her wedding to her fiancé Scott Litner just four days before she was set to tie the knot on June 29.

Instead of saying ‘yes’, the former model rode her horse and took part in the action at the Southampton Polo Club alongside her daughter Sea, 26.

On her Instagram Stories, Kelly shared snippets from the fun day, including a video of Sea playing with their dog Tarzan on a polo field with the caption: “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.”

Another photo shows a group of polo players and their horses in action on the field during an exciting match on the day of Kelly’s wedding.

In a statement to Page Six on Tuesday, the former reality star said, “I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and that I will not be moving forward with this wedding.”

She has since revealed that her decision was prompted by Scott’s refusal to sign a prenup, which she described as “the ultimate warning sign.”

But Scott would think this is an ‘excuse’.

“Scott still wants to marry Kelly and while it won’t happen in a few days as originally expected, he believes they can get back to a place where it does happen,” a source told DailyMail.com.

“He’s angry for all sorts of reasons. There were so many wheels in motion for the wedding, it was supposed to be a very special day and now it’s not happening anymore.”

They continued: ‘While Kelly cited the lack of a prenup as the reason, Scott feels this is just an excuse and it had to be something else.

‘He wants to find out where things went wrong and put the situation right.

“Scott didn’t want a prenup because he considers himself more traditional, and with a prenup, he feels like you’re undermining a lifelong relationship. He didn’t want to turn the marriage into a business deal.”

The insider explained that those closest to Scott and Kelly were stunned by the recent turn of events.

“Friends were actually surprised and thought everything was going well for the two,” the source explained. “So despite whatever tension there was in their relationship, friends didn’t see this coming at all.”

“He of all people should have understood that we had to protect each other before we tied the knot. “I’m really shocked that he refused a prenuptial agreement.”

The reality star, who reportedly has a net worth of $10 million, said Scott, a wealth advisor, “thought I would join this union without legal protection, that I would leave everything to faith.”

The reality TV personality and financier prepared for an intimate ceremony on June 29.

Kelly and Scott were scheduled to have two ceremonies: a backyard wedding in Boston for their closest loved ones, followed by a larger celebration in the Hamptons.

The couple got engaged last summer over the Fourth of July weekend, when the financier proposed to her during a trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, where she vacationed as a child.

“I have decided that my two daughters are my priority and I will not be moving forward with this wedding,” Kelly shared in a statement (pictured with daughters Sea, 26, and Teddy, 23).

The trio soaked up the sun and relaxed in the Caribbean, shortly before Bensimon announced she would be canceling her planned June 29 wedding.

Kelly was previously married to Gilles Bensimon, the famous photographer, from 1997 to 2006 and they have daughters Sea, 26, and Teddy, 23.

Scott has been married twice and also has children.

The businessman proposed to her on a speedboat while she wore a bikini. This took her completely by surprise.

“Scott asked me to marry him, literally in Wisconsin, near where I grew up,” she told DailyMail.com. “I grew up in Rockford, Illinois, and he proposed to me in Lake Geneva Wisconsin.”
