Kellie Pickler is seen for the first time since her husband committed suicide three months ago

Kellie Pickler has been seen for the first time since her singer-songwriter husband shot himself three months ago at their Nashville home.

The country star, 36, was seen chatting with friends outside the $2.4 million home where husband Kyle Jacobs died on Feb. 17 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

With no makeup and wearing a red “Santa’s pub” t-shirt with her long blond hair wrapped in a bun, Pickler’s face looked etched with sadness as she greeted and hugged friends.

On Monday, workmen were seen painting the room where Jacobs, 49, died. Pickler would be too distraught to stay in the former marital home.

This came as the Davidson Country Medical Examiner confirmed on Tuesday that Jacobs died by suicide.

Pickler seemed excited to see her friends on Monday and went in for a hug. Her husband’s toxicology report found no drugs in Jacobs’ system, though it added that Jacobs had a history of “pseudo-seizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes, and chronic alcohol use.”

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department was called to Jacobs and Pickler’s home at 1:21 p.m. on February 17 when Pickler was unable to locate her husband when she awoke.

The American Idol alum and her assistant called 911 when they couldn’t open an upstairs bedroom.

“Officers and personnel from the Nashville Fire Department responded and found resident Kyle Jacobs, 49, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in an upstairs bedroom/office,” the Nashville Police Department said in a statement.

“His death is being investigated as an apparent suicide,” the statement concluded, with spokesman Don Aaron adding that everyone else in the home was safe.
