Kellie Pickler and the parents of her late husband Kyle Jacobs are embroiled in a legal battle over his personal assets following his death. tragic death.
Pickler, 38, has filed a petition against Reed and Sharon Jacobs, the administrators of Kyle’s estate, over items they claim belonged to him before his death, according to court documents obtained by InTouch on Wednesday.
Kyle died by suicide on February 17, 2023 at the age of 49, and although the couple had been together since 2008, Pickler declined to serve as administrator of his estate, allowing his parents to take control.
The dispute centers on a document called the “List of Assets,” prepared by Kyle’s parents, which lists personal items they requested by subpoena.
Among the items listed is Kyle’s gun collection, which includes three rifles, seven handguns, a shotgun, a silencer and a gun safe.
Also on the list are Kyle’s watches, jewelry, a collection of baseball cards, musical instruments and personal devices such as his work laptop and iPhone.

Pickler’s attorney claims some of these items are not in her possession or their ownership is disputed.
In her petition, Pickler claims Kyle’s parents entered her home to take items after his death, but did not give her a list of what was taken.
She is now asking the court to force Reed and Sharon to identify the items they took.
“As part of this action, Ms. Pickler is seeking an order requiring the co-trustees to identify the items they obtained from her home,” the petition reads.
Pickler also asked the court to resolve the ongoing dispute over the property.
However, Reed and Sharon dispute Pickler’s claims, insisting she is in violation of a subpoena demanding the return of the estate’s property.
They claim Pickler has been uncooperative and provided conflicting information about the location and ownership of the items.
The Jacobs family admits to visiting Pickler’s home to retrieve certain belongings, but they claim that this was done with Pickler’s express permission and at the invitation of both her and her counsel.

The dispute centers on a document called the “List of Assets,” prepared by Kyle’s parents, containing personal items they requested through a subpoena, according to the outlet.
They also claim that Pickler had reserved the items in question for them and therefore no list of items was necessary.
The couple’s prenuptial agreement, which outlined the division of assets, is also a point of contention.
Reed and Sharon moved to dismiss Pickler’s petition, citing the terms of the agreement.
Meanwhile, Pickler has been granted a protective order to prevent the public release of the transcript or video of her deposition.
Her legal team argues that such disclosure would cause unnecessary embarrassment and burden.
The Jacobs family has objected to this protective order, stating that the court did not provide a clear justification for the ruling, especially regarding the avoidance of “mercy.”
Currently, the case is still ongoing, with both parties preparing for further legal proceedings.
