Now Keke Palmer has a surprising new duet coming soon.
The actress/singer, 29, will release a new track featuring none other than Usher herself.
The duo announced their new song Boyfriend on Instagram on Tuesday.
The song seems to reference the controversy with Usher, 44, who was heard singing, “Someone said your boyfriend is looking for me.”

The announcement included the track’s August 16 release date, along with a short teaser of the music video.
“When fantasies become reality…’Boyfriend’ Out Tomorrow, 16/8,” Usher captioned the clip. For her part, Keke captioned the announcement with the song’s release date.

It came after Usher spoke out about Keke being shamed by her then-boyfriend Darius Jackson during his concert.
Before the concert, Keke wore a see-through bodysuit dress with thongs that prompted Jackson – the father of Palmer’s six-month-old son – to take to Twitter and write, “It’s the outfit, you’re a mom,” declaring his expressed disapproval.

“I think everyone’s vision or some version of what they felt was happening there just leads you back to just having a really good time in Las Vegas. And that’s what I hope came out of it,” Usher told the outlet earlier this month.

Usher continued, “Every night I think about how the world will now react to this moment I will have with the one I want to sing to.”
The Confessions hitmaker has also sung for Kim Kardashian, Kimora Lee Simmons and Saweetie.
He went on to say of the incident with Palmer, “But it was a pop moment, and it was nice to at least have a conversation and we’re just keeping it light. I don’t see anything negative happening in Las Vegas.”
On July 5, Jackson sparked a wave of backlash when he took to social media to call out Keke for her outfit choice.
When fans came to Palmer’s defense, Jackson doubled down as he fired off a second tweet to defend himself.
“We live in a generation where a man of the family does not want his children’s wife and mother to show spoils to please others and he is told how much of a hater he is,” he said.
“This is my family and my representation. I have standards and morals for what I believe. I am resigning my case,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Nope actress didn’t explicitly comment on the situation, instead taking to Instagram to share content from the evening and telling fans she wished she’d taken more photos.
Usher later responded to the post, writing, “The Big Boss!! Thanks for your visit.’

In the clip, shared a week after the pair made headlines, Palmer asked Jackson how he felt when they decided to take their romance public.
The fitness instructor revealed that he felt “pressure” to be perfect, and confessed that he held Keke to that same standard of perfection.
“You almost feel that pressure to be perfect,” Jackson replied. “And so it really confused me and infiltrated my mind, because not only did I have to hold myself to that perfect standard, I held you to a perfect standard.”
While fans have speculated that Keke and Darius may have broken up before or immediately after the wardrobe drama, neither have addressed their relationship status since then.
