Keith Urban’s trick for coping with Nicole Kidman’s erotic S&M scenes in Babygirl

Blue is not his color – and neither is being green with envy for Keith Urban, who has mastered how to avoid ‘cringing’ at his wife Nicole Kidman’s highly erotic sex scenes.

Kidman, 57, has embarked on one of her raunchiest roles yet: She plays a powerful, married boss who falls in love with a kinky young intern in the upcoming drama, Babygirl.

The actress strips off for several intimate scenes with co-stars Antonio Banderas, 64, and Harris Dickinson, 28, and recently revealed that she “orgasmed” so many times that she had to pause filming.

Urban, 56, is reportedly unimpressed by Kidman’s steamy on-screen encounters as he has learned to separate his wife from the on-screen character.

“When Keith looks at her work, he sees it as her art,” a source told DailyMail.com exclusively. “She plays characters – she doesn’t play Nicole Kidman.”

They continued: ‘Keith doesn’t wince during scenes like this, he knows it’s just part of the story.

‘He distances himself from seeing her as his wife and supports her and enjoys the work.’

The insider claimed that Urban “doesn’t want to know any script details” beyond her “schedule” so he can “figure out when they see each other and their kids.”

Urban may not have a problem with it, but the Hollywood couple won’t let their daughters, Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 14, watch her risque films.

“Nicole is not ashamed in any way, but she doesn’t want them to see everything she does to her children, she’s just a mother,” the source explains.

“Just as well as they don’t go to every concert their dad gives,” the insider clarified. “It’s a relief for Nicole to know they aren’t aware of her more revealing work.”

Babygirl, which will be released in theaters in the US on Christmas Day, follows powerful CEO Romy, played by Kidman, who jeopardizes her career, life’s work and marriage when she begins an intense affair with her young intern Samuel (Dickinson).

Earlier this week, Kidman recalled how performing the scenes with Harrison and Banderas, who plays her husband Jacob, was often too much to handle, and she called for a break.

Kidman, 57, has embarked on one of her raunchiest roles yet, playing a powerful married boss who falls in love with a kinky young intern in the upcoming drama, Babygirl.

‘[Keith] is moving away from seeing her as his wife and supporting her and enjoying the work,” a source told DailyMail.com (Kidman pictured in Babygirl)

“There was a tremendous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration,” she said per The sun. “It’s like, ‘Don’t touch me.’

‘There were times when we were filming and I thought, “I don’t want to have an orgasm anymore.”

‘Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care if I never get touched again in my life! I’m over it.

‘It was so present for me all the time that it almost seemed like a burnout.’

The Eyes Wide Shut actress previously described the S&M scenes as ‘liberating’.

But Kidman felt completely safe shooting the sequences thanks to female director Halina Reijn, who made sure the actors were never pushed out of their comfort zone.

“There’s a kind of jump off the cliff where you go, okay, I’m just going to leave everything behind and explore this with the people I trust in a genre that’s already established,” Kidman explained in a recent Q+ One session.

“You have your director at the helm saying, ‘I’m going to protect you. Nothing that’s going to be in the movie is going to be something that you’re not comfortable with. You’re going to be OK.’
