A number of Australian stars have paid tribute to music icon Tina Turner after she passed away at the age of 83 after a long battle with illness.
People like Keith Urban, Celeste Barber and radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson all said they were shocked by the news that broke on Wednesday.
Keith, 55, who took the stage in 2021 to honor Tina as she was inducted into the US Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, thanked Tina for her contribution to the music industry.
“Just heard of Tina Turner’s passing and it touched my heart,” Keith wrote in a tribute he shared on Instagram.
“I immediately hear that voice, see that energy and feel that power, sensuality, determination and passion. That life force,” he said.

The legendary singer died at her home in Küsnach near Zurich, Switzerland, after a long, unspecified illness.
Her representatives announced the news, saying, “With her, the world loses a music legend and role model.”

On April 9, in what is believed to be her last public remarks, she shared The protector how she hoped the world would remember her – and how she didn’t fear death.

Keen as ever, Turner joked if she’d like more sex, money, or fame — “At my age, is there another option?” and shared how she enjoyed “anonymity in retirement.”
Turner is survived by two of her four sons – two predeceased her – and her 67-year-old husband, Erwin Bach.
The couple got married in 2013 after nearly 30 years of dating.
Throughout her career, Turner won eight Grammys from 25 nominations and three lifetime Grammy Awards. Her last stadium concert was in Sheffield, England, in 2009.
