Keira Knightley and her husband James Righton touch down at JFK Airport – after the actress revealed their marriage will only survive if he follows one VERY strict Christmas rule

Keira Knightley and her husband James Righton were spotted landing at John F. Kennedy Airport on Sunday.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star, 39, and her musician partner, 41, looked tired after their long flight to New York.

However, Keira was seen beaming as she walked alongside James, wearing light-wash wide-leg denim jeans and a winter jumper complete with a geometric pattern.

She completed her airport look with a black oversized flight jacket finished with fluffy lining, as well as a pair of chunky black boots.

Meanwhile, James looked stylish as he wore a black hoodie under a long coat, as well as a cap, as he pushed the trolley carrying their luggage.

The couple’s appearances came days after Keira joked that her marriage to husband James Righton will only survive if he follows a very strict rule over Christmas.

The couple married in 2013 in the south of France, where she wore Chanel couture as they exchanged vows in front of 11 guests.

The couple tends to keep their private lives under wraps, but in a new interview, Keira made a rare comment about James when she opened up about their Christmas traditions.

I talk to Nick Grimshaw about his BBC Radio 6 programme On Thursday, Keira sarcastically joked that the couple would be heading for a “divorce” if James’ obsessive-compulsive disorder came out of the kitchen on Christmas Day.

The stage actress, who is currently starring in the new Netflix thriller series Black Doves, revealed that although she isn’t cooking on the day, her husband takes the lead instead but can be very picky when it comes to the kitchen.

Keira opened up about the drama to Nick: “He’s the cook! he is a good cook. He loves food, he’s a good cook and he’s also a bit of an obsessive-compulsive, so as long as the obsessive-compulsive stays in the kitchen, the marriage survives!

“He can be as OCD as he wants in the kitchen, but he can’t leave the kitchen! But that does mean that Christmas dinner will be very tasty.’

When Nick talked about how good it is to have a barrier, Keira agreed, replying, “As far as trying to maintain a relationship, you know, okay, for a while, if someone has a little bit of OCD, they have to you do that. give them steps where they are allowed. And then places where it is not allowed! So I feel like the kitchen is a good place for OCD.

“If it ends up in the living room, not happy,” she then laughed and added, “Divorce! Unfortunately.’

The couple have two daughters, Edie, nine, and five-year-old Delilah.

During the conversation, Keira noted that she’s feeling “pretty festive” after a round of wreath-making with the girls, and shared that she still has a week to promote her series before she can “hibernate” over the holidays.

The beauty’s breakout role came in the 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham and since then she has starred in several major projects including Pride and Prejudice, Love Actually and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

However, despite her international fame, Keira admitted that she is ‘not good’ at the celebrity side of her fame and considers herself a recluse.

She explained, “As you get older, you learn what you’re good at and what you’re not good at, and I’m not good at the celebrity side of that. I’m not very good at being ‘on’ all the time, I like to have an ‘off’ button.

‘I think there is a strong hermit living inside me and that hermit must be respected. If the hermit is respected, then there is happiness.

‘The hermit is not allowed to take over, because then you become lonely and that is not fun, but the hermit must be respected.

“And actually, if you’ve ended up in a recluse, you’re not very good at being a celebrity all the time, that doesn’t work.”

However, she is back in the spotlight thanks to her new Netflix thriller Black Doves, in which she stars alongside Ben Whishaw and Sarah Lancashire.

Set against the backdrop of London at Christmas, the six-part action series follows Keira’s character Helen Webb, a smart, down-to-earth, devoted wife and mother – and professional spy.

For ten years she has been passing on the secrets of her politician husband to the shadowy organization she works for: the Black Doves.
