Reeves initially formed Dogstar in 1991 with Robert Mailhouse and Gregg Miller, although Brett Domrose joined the group in 1994.

They released a four-song EP Quattro Formaggi in 1996 and their first full-length album Our Little Visionary.

Their second album Happy Ending was released in 1999, although they split in 2002.

Over the years, the group occasionally reunited for jam sessions, but during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, they spent more time together in quarantine.

Their jam sessions eventually turned into songwriting sessions, which ultimately yielded enough material for a new album.

They declared “We’re back” in a July 2022 Instagram post and performed again for the first time in two decades at the Bottle Rock Napa Valley Music Festival in May 2023.

The group launched their first single Everything Turns Around in mid-July, from their new album Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, which will be released on October 6.

Dogstar also announced a 25-date tour in support of the album, which kicked off on August 10 in Hermosa Beach, California.

Reeves will next perform at the Ventura Music Hall in Ventura, California on August 26, followed by the Belly-Up Tavern in Solano Beach, California on August 27 and The Observatory in Santa Ana, California on August 28.

The tour then takes them to Japan for several dates in September, before returning to the United States for a slate of shows in the fall and early winter.

The tour concludes with a pair of shows at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on December 20 and 21.
