Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend Alexandra Grant gives RARE interview about her relationship: ‘He’s such an inspiration to me’
Artist Alexandra Grant has a lot of expectations on her shoulders. After all, she’s dating Keanu Reeves, an actor so beloved he’s been dubbed the “internet boyfriend.”
The adorable couple largely keeps their relationship out of the public eye, with the exception of occasional red carpet appearances.
The accomplished career woman, 50, attended the Los Angeles Beverly Arts Icon Awards on Friday, where she was honored, and walked the red carpet without her actor boyfriend, 59 — who recently played a live performance with his band Dogstar.
When asked what it’s like dating someone so famous, and whether it’s harder to walk the red carpet with or without the John Wick star, she made a rare comment about their relationship.
“The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time my relationship started,” she told People. ‘I have a lot of confidence in the relationship on the red carpet. I already have confidence in it.’

Grant and Reeves go back at least to 2011, when they started working as friends on the book Ode to Happiness, a picture book for adults with illustrations by Grant and text by Reeves.
Over the years, their friendship turned into romance and one of our favorite celebrity couples was born.
Alexandra talked about a time when she felt creatively stuck and how Reeves helped her through it.
“In a moment of frustration in my life I once said, ‘Sometimes I feel like a Maserati stuck in traffic’, that I have a big engine but for various reasons I could never go,” she told the outlet .
“And I know a lot of people feel frustrated in their lives because they can’t get their engines running.”
She added, “I think every creative person feels that way.”
“What I like about Keanu and our exchange is that we push each other to build new paths,” she said. “Seeing the other person’s problem solving is inspiring, like, ‘Oh, well, okay, this one’s a dead end. How can I try this other thing?’ ‘
“He’s such an inspiration to me,” she continued. ‘He’s so creative, he’s so nice. He works so hard.’
And she explained that even though they work in different mediums, they are both storytellers at their core.
‘To make a film you need hundreds of people. As an artist you don’t have to do that. You need one. You need a community to get the work out into the world, but not to actually create it. I think part of the inspiration is the differences in scale,” she explained.
And she’s also a fan of her boyfriend’s side project, his band Dogstar, and didn’t mind when he recently had to skip their regular Friday night “arts date” to play a live gig.
“I’m really proud,” she said, adding, “I’m a big Dogstar fan.

From friends to lovers, the couple started out as platonic friends and over the years their relationship turned into love
‘I had the great pleasure of going to their first public show and having been listening to the latest album for a while, I was one of the few people in the audience who knew all the lyrics.
‘That was really cool. It’s fun. It’s more than fun,” she said.
And the Speed star is as in love with his girlfriend as she is with him. In March 2023 he was asked what his last moment of happiness was.
‘A few days ago with my sweetheart. We laughed and laughed and giggled. You feel great. It was just really fun to be together,” he told People.
