Keanu Reeves focuses on his side career as a bassist as he drops by a guitar shop in Hollywood

He is best known for his roles in the Matrix and John Wick series.

But Keanu Reeves has made it a pastime as a rock bassist, and he was focused on the music on Tuesday when he stopped by a Hollywood guitar shop in photos obtained exclusively by Dailymail.com.

The 58-year-old superstar looked casual and sloppy as he headed to the store to check out the selection.

He even seemed to drop off one of his basses at the shop, possibly to have it repaired or refurbished.

Keanu wore one of his standard slightly disheveled uniforms with a black sport coast that he paired with rumpled olive pants.

Taking care of business: He seemed to drop off one of his basses at the shop, possibly to have it repaired or refurbished

Shopping: The actor saw Neely come across Guitars.

Under his coat he wore a simple navy V-neck shirt and sturdy tan hiking boots.

The actor’s dark hair hung down to his shoulders, similar to the shaggy style he sports for the John Wick movies, and he sported his now-standard salt-and-pepper beard.

He also wore solid black sunglasses and covered himself with a black toque to help keep him out of the limelight.

The My Own Private Idaho star appeared to have a bass trunk in the back seat of his two-door black sports car, which he took out and entered the store with.

He took off his sunglasses and hat before returning to his vehicle, but paused to chat with a man on the sidewalk.

Then Reeves jumped in his car and drove off.

While not well known for his musicianship these days, Keanu played regularly with the band Dogstar in the 1990s and early 2000s.

He co-founded the group in 1991 and went on to release two albums in 1996 and 2000.

He provided bass for the group, along with backing vocals, but eventually his increasing fame made it difficult to find time for the side project, and the band broke up in 2002.

He then played in the spin-off group Becky with Dogstar’s drummer, co-founder and actor Robert Mailhouse, but left that project after only a year.

Since then, Keanu doesn’t seem to have any major musical acts, though he apparently keeps up with his instrument.

The actor’s outing comes after Friends star Matthew Perry pledged to remove his name from all future editions of his memoir Friends, Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing.

The 53-year-old Friends actor raised his eyebrows last year and apologized after asking why Reeves “still walks among us” when colleagues like River Phoenix and Chris Farley had passed away prematurely.

The Williamstown, Massachusetts native appeared on the Saturday Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at USC’s Bovard Auditorium, where he told a panel that “future versions of the book will not feature his name.”

Perry, who played Chandler Bing in the NBC hit, complained about the mistake at the event, where he was promoting the book.

“I said something stupid… it was a mean thing to do,” Perry said, adding that he has “publicly apologized to” the John Wick actor.

Perry said he made the decision to withhold comments about Reeves in part because the actor is a neighbor of his.

“I drew his name because I live on the same street,” Perry said, adding that he hasn’t personally told Reeves he regrets the comments, but that he would if given the chance.

Bad taste: The 53-year-old Friends actor raised his eyebrows last year and apologized after asking why Reeves ‘still walks among us’ when colleagues like River Phoenix and Chris Farley had passed away prematurely

“If I run into the guy, I’ll apologize — it was just stupid,” he said.

Perry originally wrote, “River was a beautiful man inside and out—too beautiful for this world, as it turned out.

“It always seems to be the really talented guys that go down. How come original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?’

His comments seemed to suggest that he thought Reeves had little talent compared to his Phoenix, who was his best friend, even though Perry now claims he chose a random name.
