Keanu Reeves and longtime love Alexandra Grant look festive on New Year’s Eve outing in LA
Keanu Reeves and his longtime love Alexandra Grant looked festive as they stepped out in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve.
Alexandra, 51, and Keanu, 60, first met over dinner in 2009 and collaborated on two art books before officially hitting the red carpet in 2019.
In the intervening years, however, they have tended to guard their privacy and rarely discuss details about their relationship in public.
When they were spotted last Tuesday, they both looked blissful in each other’s company, both grinning widely.
Her gray baseball cap had salmon-colored accents that elegantly complemented the bright pink background of the sweater he was wearing.
Adding an extra touch of seasonal spirit to his ensemble, Keanu wrapped himself in a bright red scarf that brought back memories of last week’s Christmas.

He wore a chunky gray blazer over his look, while Alexandra wore a light gray sleeveless top over a matching sweater.
Earlier this month, the couple was dressed to the nines as they hit the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Sonic The Hedgehog 3.
Keanu will play the voice of the villain Shadow The Hedgehog, among a cast that includes Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, Idris Elba, James Marsden and Krysten Ritter.
During the premiere, Keanu was asked if he saw the event as an example of a “date night” for him and Alexandra.
‘I think it is! Yeah, we were all dressed up and it was really exciting, and just a little bit nerve-wracking in the car, but when we got out it was just like – I don’t know, it’s just really special to be side by side,” said he. told Entertainment tonight.
Alexandra found herself on the business end of an internet frenzy when she hit the red carpet with Keanu at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in early November 2019.
“I think everyone I knew called me the first week of November, and that’s fascinating,” she said British Vogue a few months later.
When asked about the prospect of marriage in 2020, she said: “Love on every level is very important to my identity. How’s that for dodging the question?’

She added: “I don’t believe isolation is the way to go. There is a period of isolation I go through as a painter, but I really appreciate the experience of having relationships.”
By the time they officially hit the red carpet, they had been friends for about a decade and it was reported that Keanu wanted the romance out in the open.
They first worked together in 2011 on Keanu’s book Ode To Happiness, which she illustrated. The project marked her first book as an artist and his first as a writer.
They collaborated again on the actor’s 2016 book Shadows, to which Alexandra once again contributed the artwork.
She is his first famous girlfriend since Jennifer Syme, who died in a car crash in 2001, less than four months after she and Keanu’s stillborn baby were delivered.

In 2010, a photo surfaced of the Matrix star sitting somberly on a park bench, resulting in the hugely viral “Sad Keanu” meme.
When the meme became popular, there was much speculation that his expression was related to the crushing losses he had suffered over the past decade.
But in a 2021 interview The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Keanu said he actually looked forlorn in the photo because he was hungry.
“Man, I’m having a sandwich!” the movie star said of the photo. ‘I was thinking. I had some things going on. I was hungry.’
