The sister of LA Clippers star Kawhi Leonard has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2019 murder of an elderly woman found with a cracked skull on the bathroom floor at Pechanga Resort Casino in California.

Leonard’s older sister, Kimesha Williams, 35, and Candace Townsell were convicted Friday of the murder of Afaf Assad, an 84-year-old Long Beach woman, per The press company.

Both women were convicted of first-degree murder, robbery and elder abuse in February after a month-long trial.

There is no suggestion that Williams’ brother, who is regarded as one of the best two-way players in the NBA, was involved in the attack in any way. Leonard, 31, signed a four-year, $176 million contract with the Clippers for the 2021-2022 season, which will keep him in Los Angeles at least through 2024.

Southwest Sheriff’s Station deputies said they were called to the four-star hotel and casino in Temecula — two hours south of Los Angeles — at about 8 a.m. on August 31, 2019, to find Assad unconscious on the bathroom floor.

The sister of Clippers star Kawhi Leonard, Kimesha Williams, of Moreno Valley, California, has been sentenced to life without parole for the murder and robbery of Afaf Assad, 84, at California’s Pechanga Resort Casino on Aug. 31, 2019

Afaf Assad, 84, of Long Beach, was found unconscious in the casino bathroom after her skull was fractured. She was robbed of approximately $1,000 that she was gambling on with her 93-year-old husband, Youanness

Williams is one of Leonard’s four sisters. The 31-year-old Clippers attacker was not involved in the murder in any way

She and her husband of 59, Youanness, 93, entered the casino with a purse containing $1,000, according to The Press-Enterprise. Assad eventually went to the bathroom, where Williams followed her, while Townsell was on lookout and at one point a guard blocked entry.
