Katy Perry shows off custom-designed heart balloon costume for 143 album cover – as she brushes off Woman’s World flop and career crisis
Katy Perry showed off her custom-designed heart balloon costume for her new album 143 in a new video this week – following the flop of her first single Woman’s World.
The 39-year-old singer, who was recently spotted filming a racy new music video with handsome shirtless model and stuntman Oscar Dorta, rocked a scarlet, metallic heart-shaped top as she prepared to shoot her album cover.
Opening the clip and tapping on the top, the glamorous star said: ‘This top was made especially for what I think is going to be the cover of 143.
“What’s 143? 143 is I love you. It’s my favorite code.
“I get that code when I need a little confidence boost from the angels.”

Katy’s appearance comes after DailyMail.com revealed she was ‘pointing fingers at everyone but herself’ after her comeback single Woman’s World failed to chart.
According to insiders, she is desperately looking for a new plan to save her musical comeback.
The singer released the lead single from her seventh studio album, 143, last Thursday, but the song — billed as a powerful feminist anthem — was quickly dismissed as unoriginal, hypocritical and predictable.
The Teenage Dream hitmaker also drew criticism for the sexualised nature of the accompanying video, and for her decision to collaborate with music producer Dr Luke, 50, following his high-profile legal battle with Tick Tock singer Kesha, 37.
With the single having plummeted down the US iTunes charts less than a week after its July 11 release, Katy is reportedly in a ‘panic’ and is demanding her team go ‘back to the drawing board’ to prevent her album from suffering the same fate.
‘Katy is freaking out now because she’s very aware of the feedback Woman’s World is getting,’ an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com. ‘She’s blaming everyone but herself, but it’s her own fault.’
According to the source, the biggest risk Katy took was reconnecting with Dr. Luke, the music producer who worked on her hit singles, including 2008’s I Kissed a Girl and 2010’s California Gurls, before she was later accused of sexual, physical and emotional abuse by Kesha.
The superproducer, whose real name is Łukasz Gottwald, denied all allegations, including Kesha’s claim that he raped Katy – something she denied.

Some of Katy’s fans have defended the star, claiming she was forced to work with Dr. Luke due to contractual obligations. However, Katy previously confirmed she has no ties to the producer.
During her 2018 testimony for Kesha’s lawsuit against Dr. Luke, Katy confirmed that she had only signed a three-album deal with Dr. Luke’s Kemosabe Records and that the two no longer had a contractual relationship.
She also acknowledged the public feedback she would receive if she chose to collaborate with Dr. Luke during his battle with Kesha.
“If we were to work with him at this point, we would not be well received because of this lawsuit,” she said.
When asked if she thought the collaboration with Dr. Luke would have a potential impact on the success of a future release, the Dark Horse singer replied: “[People would] protest against it, a smear campaign, just 20 different stories than mine.’
After DailyMail.com previously revealed that Katy had been warned not to collaborate with Dr Luke on the new album, the source confirmed that the Roar singer had ignored the pleas.

“She was insane to think Dr. Luke was a good idea. She didn’t listen to anyone,” the insider said. “Instead of diving deep and making art, she released something that sounded like it could have been on one of her 2010 albums.”
Not only did Katy collaborate with the producer, the song was also largely co-written with men.
Dr. Luke, Aaron Joseph, Vaughn Oliver, and Rocco Did It Again! all co-wrote and produced the song. Katy and Chloe Angelides are the only women who contributed to the song’s writing.
There is no woman who produced the album.
“You don’t make a song about female empowerment with just men,” the source said.
‘Katy can’t identify with other women because she lives in her celebrity bubble. She doesn’t know anything about what it’s like to be a woman in the real world.
“She doesn’t use her star power to bring about change in the world, she uses it to make money.”
