Katy Perry says she’ll have a ‘wild’ sleepover at Windsor Castle after performing at the Coronation Concert

Katy Perry has revealed she plans to have a ‘wild’ sleepover at Windsor Castle after performing at the Coronation Concert on May 7.

The Firework singer, 38, joins a roster of stars including Take That, Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, singer/songwriter Freya Ridings and classic soul artist Alexis Ffrench.

As a special honor for her performance, Katy is given an exclusive stay in the royal residence of the 1,000-year-old castle.

And the singer can’t wait to feel like a princess for the day, exclaiming she’s “very excited” for a “wild” stay.

She said Extra TV: ‘They said I could stay at Windsor Castle, which I’m really excited about.

“Maybe I’m posting a lot because I’m going to be in a castle in real life! It’s getting wild.’

Windsor Castle has 1,000 rooms and Katy gets a rare insight into the goings-on at the royal abode the day after the coronation on May 6.

Katy has met the king more than once.

The singer first met the king at an event in Mumbai in 2019 when he was still Prince of Wales.

The meeting was undoubtedly memorable for both of them, as it was the first – and probably the last time – the King ever asked anyone for a selfie.

Scott Furssedonn-Wood, who was Charles’ deputy private secretary, told the King how much his children loved Katy’s music.

The king then stepped in and asked the singer to pose with his assistant.

Katy Perry has previously joined the king’s sons Prince William and Harry in their Heads Together mental health campaign, taking part in an awareness video.

She and her British fiancé Orlando Bloom are now neighbors of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Montecito.

Charles then met Katy for a second time in February 2020, when it was announced that she would become an ambassador for the British Asian Trust.

At the time, the news was met with anger by many because Katy is neither British nor Asian.

Some 20,000 members of the public will attend the coronation concert on Sunday 7 May, which will be broadcast on BBC1 and Radio 2, along with catch-up services.

According to the BBC, the concert will “celebrate a new chapter in the country’s history” and will have “themes of love, respect and optimism” while celebrating the “four nations” and the Commonwealth.

It comes less than a year after Queen Elizabeth II’s platinum jubilee concert featuring music by Queen, Duran Duran and Diana Ross.

Katy and her entourage will be given a series of suites in the historic castle, where the concert will be given on Sunday, May 7.
