Katy Perry says she made a ‘huge mistake’ by passing up the opportunity to collaborate with future superstar Billie Eilish: ‘I was like, ‘Meh, bored”
Katy Perry opened up about one of the biggest mistakes she’s made in her career on Friday.
During a question-and-answer period during a private event for Los Angeles radio station KIIS-FM, the 38-year-old singer admitted that she passed up the opportunity to work with then-budding singer Billie Eilish because she thought her song was “bored”.
The Roar singer, who shares daughter Daisy with fiance Orlando Bloom, appeared at the event wearing a pair of green leather pants with a green and white cropped sweater featuring a maze design.

Holding the microphone, he explained to the audience that a friend “sent me an email one time saying, ‘Hey, check out this new artist.’ I would really like us to work with her because she was working with me for Unsub. [Records].’
“It was a song called Ocean Eyes, and it was just a blonde girl, and I was like, ‘Meh, bored.'”

That was back in 2016. Since then, Billie has won multiple Grammy Awards, as well as a Golden Globe and an Oscar for her song No Time To Die from Daniel Craig’s swansong as James Bond in the thriller of the same name. .

Now that the cat is out of the bag, maybe Katy and Billie can collaborate when the California Gurls artist resumes her Las Vegas residency in February.
