Katy Perry jokes she will ‘NEVER sing’ her hit Wide Awake again after Kelly Clarkson performed the ballad on her talk show
Kelly Clarkson’s singing has impressed one of her biggest fans.
The slimmed-down talk show host, 41, left Katy Perry in awe after singing one of her biggest hits during a “Kellioke” segment last week.
Based on images from American Idol winner who performed a powerful rendition of Perry’s 2012 song, Wide Awake, on Instagram, the 13-time Grammy nominee left a hilarious response to Clarkson’s rendition.
“Okay dang, I can never sing that again,” the mother-of-one joked.

One fan gave some background information about the performance.

This wasn’t the first Katy Perry song the hitmaker was drawn to.
Clarkson included Long Shot, co-written by Perry, on her 2009 album All I Ever Wanted.
She has also performed other hits from the American Idol judge, including Roar in 2019 and The One That Got Away in 2023.
The host has performed hundreds of songs since her debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2019, and even put together a record of her Kellyoke recordings.
“Over 500 songs later, and we still have no shortage of amazing artists to pay tribute to,” she said when the EP dropped in 2022.
The versatile singer has covered almost every genre of music in her show.
