Katy Perry appears to take a swipe at ex-husband Russell Brand as she reveals she’s ‘no longer attracted to narcissists’

Katy Perry appeared to criticize Russell Brand when she referred to “narcissists.”

In a preview of her interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, she told host Alex Cooper about her type: ‘I’m no longer attracted to narcissists.

“Anyone who constantly changes the goalpost or emotionally pulls the rug out from under you, not it. Anyone who says they know you better than you know yourself. Someone who just doesn’t want to help.”

Katy and Russell’s short-lived marriage lasted just 14 months. In December 2011, the marriage came to an abrupt end when the comedian told the pop star via text that he was divorcing her.

After their split, Russell called Katy’s lifestyle “boring” and “meaningless” in his 2015 documentary BRAND: A Second Coming. Of himself, he said, “I’m an egotist, I’m a fucking narcissist; but I’m your narcissist.”

He later claimed that he had “changed a lot in the last five years” and could now see where he had gone wrong during their 14-month marriage.

In 2017, Russell shared, “I don’t compare my current relationships to past relationships out of respect for my current wife [Laura Gallacher] and to Katy Perry.

“I think I’m an easier person to deal with now. I’m also in a very different situation. I’m dependent on my wife. In relationships, there’s always going to be a level of dependency.

“But I try not to project my problems onto other people, and maybe I wasn’t always like this.”

In October 2023, Russell faced serious allegations from a series of women, including rape and sexual assault, when four women came forward with allegations.

The comedian strongly denies any wrongdoing and says he has evidence to refute the allegations.

Katy has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.

The Woman’s World singer said in the podcast that cleaning is the way to her heart.

She joked, “If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done everything, and you’ve washed all the dishes, and you’ve closed all the pantry doors, you better prepare to get sucked!”

“I mean, literally. That’s my love language. I don’t need a red Ferrari. I can buy a red Ferrari. Just do the f***ing dishes!”

Earlier this year, 47-year-old ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star Orlando admitted that he “wouldn’t change our relationship for anything in the world,” even though it can be difficult as they’re both trying to build their own big careers.

On the podcast ‘What Now?’ he said: ‘I wouldn’t change it for the world, even though sometimes I think, ‘How do we do this?’ Because we have two gigantic careers and lives, and hers is even… it seems like a whole universe sometimes.’

“But I think I’ll just keep going to her, holding her hand and walking her back to the sandbox and saying, ‘We’re just going to build a sand castle.'”

The filmmaker also talked about her strict religious upbringing.

Her parents, Mary Christine Perry and Maurice Keith Hudson, are both Pentecostal ministers.

In an interview with the podcast, the Woman’s World singer revealed that the way to her heart actually goes through cleaning

“How were sex and relationships talked about in the past?” Alex asked.

“I wasn’t even allowed to acknowledge the opposite sex,” the 13-time Grammy nominee responded. “I didn’t even know how to use a tampon.

“So I’m on the swim team, swill, with a goddamn pad on. The girls are like, ‘Girls, that’s why you’re last. You have a flotation device.'”

“I wasn’t allowed to trick-or-treat and I wasn’t allowed to eat Lucky Charms because luck is derived from Lucifer,” she said.
