Katt Williams reiterated his claim that Cedric The Entertainer allegedly stole one of his jokes during a new podcast interview.
The 52-year-old comedian responded Wednesday during his appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast with host Shannon Sharpe, 55, to Carlo, 59, who denied stealing the joke while previously appearing on the show.
“He thought I was just a comedian who had no name and that he could do this joke and no one would know,” Williams said of the joke that was later used in the 2000 comedy special The Original Kings Of Comedy.
“The problem was, I had already done this particular joke twice on BET's ComicView. It did so well on BET's ComicView that they made it part of the commercial,” Williams added.
Williams continued, “This isn't just a random joke, this is my best joke and it's my last joke and it's my closing joke. 1998, I make this joke; Carlo comes to The Comedy Store. He looks at me in the audience; he comes backstage; he tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later he does that as his final joke in The (Original) Kings of Comedy and he does it verbatim: He just turned my car into a spaceship.”
Screening in April 2023 in Florida, Katt Williams renewed his claim that Cedric The Entertainer allegedly stole one of his jokes during a new interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast
Carlo responded in the comments section of an Instagram post from Club Shay Shay with a clip of the interview.
'Revisionist history, regardless of Katt's opinion. My career cannot be reduced to one joke that Katt Williams claims as his own. I've seen over 40 movies, my specials and brand speak volumes because that's who I am. The person I attracted, including “Katt in the Hat.” At the Gibson Amphitheater,” he posted.
Carlo denied stealing the joke during a November 2022 appearance on the Club Shay Shay podcast.
'That was ridiculous. I saw Katt 30 times and he didn't say anything, it was all internet s***…I responded to him, he didn't respond to me, so I left it at that,” Carlo said.
Katt claimed during his podcast interview that Cedric and Steve Harvey, a fellow King of Comedy member, had previously apologized, so he gave them a 'pass' for ten years.
He said he was sickened when Ced denied stealing the joke during his visit to Club Shay Shay.
'Why would you trivialize me like that? Why would I give you a clearance if you were just going to lie?,” Williams said.

Williams also questioned Carlo's ability to write jokes.
“He did four comedy specials. They're so bad, Shannon, they're not on Netflix or TUBI,” Williams said.
Cedric traveled the country as a stand-up comedian as one of the headliners of Kings Of Comedy, together with Steve Harvey, DL Hughley and the late Bernie Mac.
The act was made into a stand-up comedy film by Spike Lee, entitled The Original Kings Of Comedy, which was released in August 2000.
