Katie Waissel’s escort gran Sheila Vogel-Coupe dies at 93

The grandmother of X Factor star Katie Waissel, who was known as an adult escort, has passed away at the age of 93.

Sheila Vogel-Coupe had openly worked as a £250 an hour prostitute until the Covid pandemic hit and was sadly diagnosed with dementia.

Her daughter Josie, Katie’s aunt, told her The sun her mother, who passed away on Friday, was “amazing.”

She said, “We were so proud of her. Her death deserves a mention because she was so unique.’

Sheila said at the time, “I work as a prostitute because I like it. It gives me great satisfaction and keeps me young. I could go on for years. Why should I stop?

‘I’ve had a few celebrity clients, but I’d never say who they were. They worked in the music industry and TV and stuff. I like to make men happy and satisfied.

Sheila, who went by the name Grand Dame Cecilia Bird on the Mature Courtesans website, said she had already slept with 23-year-old men.

In 2011, she appeared on This Morning and said that Katie’s singing career had put many of her clients off.

She said, “Definitely Katie ruined my career. I’m afraid she has. But I still wish her the best. I love them all.

“I love her and it breaks my heart to see my family split up like this. I’d like to ask them not to be so judgmental.’

She had said that while she enjoyed her chosen career, she regretted starring in a hardcore porn movie.

Sheila, from North London, had said that Katie’s mother Diana, her daughter, is furious at her actions and was no doubt concerned for her.

It is unknown if the family was able to resolve their differences.
