Katie Price reveals she’s been diagnosed with ADHD as she says it explains why she ‘never understood the consequences of her actions’
Katie Price has been diagnosed with ADHD.
The 45-year-old former glamor model was assessed earlier this year for the condition – which is formally known as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and includes symptoms such as restlessness and difficulty concentrating – and is now working with her therapist to learn how to cope and to understand how it influenced her behavior in the past.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “I tried to teach my mom, but my brain is wired differently than other people.
“I hate labels, but now my mom and I have both talked to doctors and she’s realizing why I did things in the past, why I act the way I do, why I do things, why I am the way I am.

“It’s not because I’m not listening and not recording it, there’s just something in me. I’ve gotten better now, I’ve learned through therapy to hold back, listen and think about what other people say – maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong, but I think about the consequences.
‘It didn’t exist in my head, a consequence, what could go wrong… So, I learned it. It took me 45 years, but I’m still here.
“I can admit that I made wrong choices, I didn’t listen to certain things my mom or anyone would have said, so it put me in unnecessary situations and caused drama and stress.
“I can’t change the past, I can only deal with the future.”
Katie – who has Harvey, 21, Junior, 18, Princess, 16, Jett, 10, and eight-year-old Bunny from previous relationships – has had multiple cosmetic surgeries in the past and acknowledged she may have a body dysmorphia.
Of her mother Amy describing the surgeries as “self-harm” in her new book, Katie said, “If people want to say that, that’s fine.
“It’s been said I have body dysmorphia, and now that I think about it, now that I’m older, maybe I do.”
The brunette beauty attends therapy sessions every week and has found it to be immensely beneficial to her family life.
She said, “I see a therapist every week now and I wish I had done it sooner.
“There are still personal things I’m currently working on that are stressing me out, but being a mom and taking care of my kids is always number one. Having therapy helps me to be calmer and more composed when things can get heated.”
