Katie Holmes wears black slip dress to support LGBTQ+ families at Night at the Pier in NYC

Dawson’s Creek alum Katie Holmes was thrilled to join her “incredible” talent manager Jason Weinberg for Family Equality’s Night at the Pier benefit, which took place Monday at Pier Sixty in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood.

The Ohio-born 44-year-old – who has 2.8 million Instagram followers – in public thanked Weinberg for her invitation “to this very special and very important evening” and included clips of Broadway bandmates J. Harrison Ghee and Vanessa Sears.

Katie kept her make-up minimal, styled her own hair and wore a black perforated slip under a matching blazer and mules selected by stylist Brie Welch.

Holmes eagerly posed with Family Equality CEO Stacey Stevenson, whose nonprofit was founded in 1979 by the Gay Fathers Coalition during the National March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights.

While enjoying the view of the Hudson River, the director-star of Rare Objects mingled with designers like Zac Posen, Blondie frontwoman Deborah Harry and New York City Ballet principal dancer Harrison Ball.

‘Thank you!’ The Ohio-born 44-year-old — who has 2.8 million Instagram followers — publicly thanked Weinberg for inviting her “to this very special and very important evening,” adding clips of Broadway bandmates J. Harrison Ghee and Vanessa Sears

In the waterfront location, Katie loved posing with Family Karma couple Amrit Kapai and Nicholas Kouchoukos, who received the Visibility Award.

Holmes is “very excited to be part of” the 22nd annual Tribeca Film Festival’s Directors Series with Emmy-nominated producer Patty Jenkins at an event taking place sometime June 7-18 in Manhattan.

The Wanderers thespian gushed on May 2: ‘My favorite place to learn and be inspired by so many great filmmakers!’

On a personal level, Katie has been single since ending her eight-month romance with the much younger bassist Bobby Wooten III in early December.

Holmes has been helping her 17-year-old daughter Suri Cruise apply to colleges “all over,” but she’s “leaning to” study fashion in New York.

The ex-husband of The Alone Together director star – Top Gun: Maverick action star Tom Cruise – has played ‘no part’ in the Blue Moon singer’s life, except Pay $400,000 a year in child support (until she turns 18) as well as medical, dental, insurance and education costs.

Worryingly, the 60-year-old Oscar nominee has not been photographed with his youngest child since ending his six-year marriage to Holmes in 2012, who does not receive spousal support.

Some speculate that Tom’s alleged alienation has to do with Katie and Suri “disowning the Church of Scientology” and devotees not associating with SPs (oppressive people).
