Katie Holmes showed off her famous street style as she showed up in New York on Saturday – two days after opening in a star-studded production of Our Town.
Thornton Wilder’s critically acclaimed 1938 play has been revived on Broadway with a cast including Katie, Jim Parsons and Zoey Deutch.
As she stepped out into the city this weekend, Katie, 45, was bundled up in a fashionable multi-coloured houndstooth coat.
She draped the jacket over a flowy sweater and threw on a pair of loose-fitting dark jeans, teaming the look with a pair of black shoes.
She carried two handbags, dressed with large sunglasses and enhanced her youthful features with makeup.

Katie’s latest performance comes after her revival of Our Town received a lukewarm response from critics after opening on Broadway.
In a one and a half star review said the New York Post accused the production of “drippy sentimentality” and argued: “Scenes are simultaneously overacted – like an old park – and underacted, without any credible or grounded moment.”
The revival was also called ‘mediocre’ by the Americans Wall Street Journalthat spared warm words because of its ‘polished’ quality and ‘moments of humor’.
“In this production we are too aware of the fact that Parsons is at the center and telling us everything and pestering the actors to stand here and do that, to worry so much about what they are doing,” the actor complained. Daily beast. “We spend too much time outside of the action, outside of them, and when they’re in action, that action gallops by.”
However, the revival was praised for its “beauty”, its “fine cast” and its “fast-paced and unsentimental direction” by the New York Times.
Similarly, Katie and Jim’s ‘charm’ was praised by in a Variety review stating that the production managed to make ‘the ordinary seductive’.
Katie began previews for Our Town on September 17, but the production won’t officially premiere until Thursday evening at the Barrymore Theater.
The show originally ran on Broadway in 1938 and became an instant classic on the American stage, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

The groundbreaking metagame, narrated by a director, centers on small-town life in New Hampshire at the turn of the 20th century.
Amid a Spartan setting, characters break the fourth wall, travel back in time and even return from beyond the grave.
Katie, who shares an 18-year-old daughter named Suri with her ex-husband Tom Cruise, is making her big return to Broadway after 12 years.
The last time she appeared in The Great White Way was in the 2012 comedy play Dead Accounts, also starring Judy Greer and Wicked heartthrob Norbert Leo Butz.
Meanwhile, Our Town has had a series of revivals on Broadway since 1938, most recently in 2002 with a cast led by Paul Newman.
Katie’s Broadway comeback comes on the heels of her daughter Suri attending Carnegie Mellon after graduating from New York’s famed LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts earlier this year.
The high school, which is said to have inspired the movie Fame, has produced a formidable array of celebrities over the years.
Notable alumni range from Al Pacino and Liza Minnelli to Jennifer Aniston and Adrien Brody to newer faces like Ansel Elgort and Timothee Chalamet.

After graduating high school, Suri now attends the prestigious college Carnegie Mellon, where she reportedly “leans towards” studying fashion.
“She’s a smart girl and she’s turning into a very intelligent, mature young woman,” an insider recently revealed to DailyMail.com. ‘She has a very close group of loyal friends and she knows exactly where she comes from.’
Suri’s mother, on the other hand, was said to be “overwhelmed” at the prospect of Suri going to Pittsburgh for college. “Katie is very proud of her, but is also extremely overprotective,” a source said.

Tom has not been photographed with his daughter for eleven years and in 2018 it was claimed that he had created distance between himself and Suri.
