The 45-year-old Dawson’s Creek star, who is often spotted in the Big Apple, was spotted enjoying her day off in New York City.
The outing comes just days after the actress moved her daughter Suri Cruise, 18, into her dorm room at the prestigious Carnegie Mellon University on Monday.
Tom Cruise’s ex-wife enjoyed the summer heat wearing a white T-shirt and red midi skirt.
She teamed the look with matching red sunglasses, a designer bag and ballerina flats.

Katie appeared to be in good spirits as she relearns how to navigate life after moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her look-alike daughter earlier this week.
Meanwhile, her 62-year-old action hero ex-husband is busy working on Mission: Impossible 8, after taking part in the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics last week.
Tom and Katie were married from November 2006 to August 2012, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Instead of mother Katie’s luxurious three-bedroom apartment, the teenager stays in a bare dormitory.
Katie has hinted that Suri may study acting and dance at Carnegie Mellon. Holmes told Town & Country magazine that her daughter wants to go into show business after college.
The magazine claimed that Suri “would be interested in a career in fashion or acting.” That doesn’t sound too strange, considering Suri starred in a high school production of The Addams Family.
